Re: taunt
Truth at times become difficult to digest for some people because it is difficult to overcome the guilt that haunts one after listening to the flaws that are there in one's character and lifestyle.
But those who are humble and sincerely want to learn and correct themselves, truth would always help them in improving their personality.
Re: taunt
"sach hamesha karwa jo hota hai"
Re: taunt
Even if something about someone is true, it's extremely bad manners to speak the 'truth' in front of that person. Unless you want to genuinely correct someone's behaviour, there is no excuse for it. And even then you shouldn't say it directly, as we should always be careful to not hurt other people's feelings. Unfortunately, some people get a high out of this activity. No one is perfect, and we should focus on improving ourselves, rather than nitpicking other's flaws.

Because some people have no tact.

Because just as important as what you say is how you say it and when you say it.
You don't tell a bride she looks paindu, even if you think she does. You don't say to a person's face they're fat/have bad skin/wrinkles etc. Thats why they take it as a "taunt"
Re: taunt
Some people do tell the truth to taunt someone. If you know that saying something to someone will upset them, even if it is the truth, but you still say it, then that's a very malicious thing to do. In that case, the "truth" is no less than a taunt.
Re: taunt
truths are relative .....
your truth isn't necessarily mine (example three diff ppl witnessing a gunpoint robbery will tell their "truth" in three diff ways and ID 3 diff ppl). everything is influenced by individual perspectives.
Facts stated without tact can be taken as taunts depending on the context of the conversation, tone used etc....
Re: taunt

because of the way its told. if you are telling the truth just because you wanna upset that person then obviously that person will consider it as a taunt and insult. but if you politely and calmly tell the truth then the chances are that person will hear it without taking any offence and doing something about it.
Re: taunt
Just because its the truth doesnt mean it needs to be said. Aur bhi cheezein maujood hein kehne ke liye...sirf vo baat kyun jo doosray ko buri lagay?
I hear this all the time "hum to sach boltay hein aur is mein koi burai nahin hai". Sach is also that people dont have any idea how to communicate their "sach" and thats why it comes across as a taunt.
Re: taunt
I get so annoyed when people say this. They know full well that thier “truth” is going to hurt someones feelings, yet they still go ahead with thier mouths and say it, and on top of that, justify it by acting all Jannati just because they haven’t “lied”. Apart from guilt, what could they gain from saying mean things?! ![]()
Re: taunt
^ Exactly.
Have you ever seen these "honest" people when you give it right back to them? The way their faces look?
Itna sach mat bolo ke doosra majboor hokay kuch sachai aap pe bhi jharay.
Re: taunt
Ohh, their faces are a picture! I don’t understand how they believe it’s appropriate for them to dish it out, but when someone does the same back to them, that person’s besharam, badtameez, nalayak and pretty much any other bad name that exists.
Qual-o-fail mein tazaad bohot buri cheez hai! ![]()
Re: taunt
If everyone including the main party knows the truth, there is no point "reminding" them the truth. Many (or most) of the time, specially in desi community, people speak that "truth" just for chaskey bazi hence other party get offended.
