Tauba

In a program called “Question Time” on QTV today a maulvi sahib was asked about tauba, when its valid and all and accordsing to him there are three sharyet of when tauba is accepted, he said that in refrence to an ayyah from Quran (I have forgotten the refrence)
One of the sharayut is to “ask Allah :swt: for forgiveness” the other is to go to Prophet and ask for his forgiveness.

Now that ayyah was probably meant for a certain time period/occassion and is not applicable today, since the Prophet :saw: is not alive anymore.

When the anchor of the program mentioned that maulana sahib said that going to Prophet’s :saw: roza is equal to visiting Prophet :saw:

This to me sound totally, I don’t know what. Even if we assume for a moment that this is true the maulana’s logic is correct what abt the people who can’t afford to go there? They can never be forgiven?

To me that ayyah was meant for people who teased the Prophet :saw: Any comments?

yes a stupid comment by the molvi....
tawba is between the person and the Lord (Allah)....
visiting the roza is not even of minimal significance in the process of tawba....

i think the molvi was refering to the ghzawa-e-tabook when some companions stayed back....
and it was Allah who accepted their tawba not the prophet....
infact Allah mentioned it quite clearly that even if you (i.e. prophet) make istaghfar for them (ask for their forgiveness) 70 times, they wud not be forgiven....
showing clearly that prophet has no role in tawba....
later Allah accepted their tawba on account of their steadfastness and purity of tawba....
