boy, so touchy. i thought musharraf was authoratarian. and this is just a car
Well there is nothing like freedom of speech for our Indian boys here. Why are you guys so eager on demolishing everyone, who speaks the truth about India and Indians? Media has done a good work for Nano. But I doubt It will help you any further then the hype you have now.
haha, your whole post can be misinterpreted. i thought you were arguing that GS suppresses Indians from telling the truth about India. no such thing, even if we feel like calling them "mindless donkeyopening" sometimes

If he has freedom of speech, then so do I..and i didn't say that he should not speak.
This Riaz Hussein is a mindless donkeyopening for saying that and Dawn is a rag for publishing it without regard of standards
I guess this talk of freedom of speech came because of this post:D...and these guys ended up telling all indians over here do not like freedom of speech...
Why did the Pakistani High Commissioner write this? I am surprised at the language used by this government official who lives in INDIA..
[/quote]
this too.
all the indians were responding to this, a person questioning why someone would write something while living in India. thus the freedom of speech reminder.

LOL! I just re-read my post and you are right! Well I wouldnt blame GS for that. GS isnt sold to India yet :p
This idiot should be fired for writing such a buchgana (childish) letter. I mean if you want to make a point about German engine in an Indian car, then say so.
Why to dwell on Tata Birla and banya. Purely childish.
NANO guys did hype about an “Indian” car for sure. But who doesn’t?
You got something, then put it out there.
On another note, I’d much rather see a Japanese engine in that car. Germans are OK but less reliable.
And yes I didn’t read anywhere except this post that NANO had a German engine.
right, but some others did, or questioned why hes speaking when hes in India, as if thats somehow relevant.
really? did you read the mindless donkeyopening's letter published in the Dawn? He says "Tata Birla and other bunyas like them....". apart from being factually incorrect, is this the standard you set for diplomats and consul officials in Pakistan?
And then he goes on to denegrate New Delhi.
Now, I at least gave the benefit of doubt to your diplomatic corps and asked if Dawn should have exercised better care in publishing such crudity from someone claiming diplomatic credentials.
I don't want to be so cynical as to assume the bar is set that low.
StirCrasy I didnt say it was extremely diplomatic of him to say that. its not Dawn's job however, to enforce diplomatic conduct in the New Delhi High Commission. Dawn's purview is allowing space for comment, its not going to decide on anything beyond that.
If someone is falsely claiming the diplomat's identity in one of the largest circulated english dailies, then that will become clear soon enough. You're making a completely unfounded assumption, however.

Joke of the century. Who made you analyse car engine. I hope Its nothing much but a rumour you caught from CNN or Fox news.
You know, I used to also think that German cars are better engineered and so more reliable. Even bought one. In the past 15 years are so, let me just say that we have spent 3 times more in repair and maintenance of that one German car (which we have had for 8 years) than on the 4 Japanese car put together we have had in the same period. Amongst those 4, was a Camry that never once saw a repair shop (except for some body work after somebody hit it) and we had it for 10 years!
I know this runs counter to c.w about german engineering but that is my experience and not just mine.

If you say maintenance do you consider the maintenance to be linked to the engine in anyway? Every car needs maintenance and service. Burqas claim is german engines are worse than japanese. Not the reliabilty of a car and It's cost factor for service and maintenance.
I had both japanese and german and I have never been happier with the allround performance of the german car. And whatever I have stated above is according to what majority states in auto touring magazines here in Europe. Btw Camrys are higher class cars not the standard Japanese models like corollas and civics.
Oh absolutely - performance, driving pleasure of the german car cannot even be compared with the Japanese ones (we had/have viz Camry, Acura, Prius and Corolla). The eight year old german car drives more pleasurably than the two year old Prius etc
If you limit the discussion to just the engine then yes - we have never had any problem with any of the engines per se (german or japanese). It is the overall engineering repair - transmission, electronics etc. In particular the electronics reliability in the german car, or lack thereof, s what surprised me. And the problem is, you cannot repair electronics and you have to replace. Knowing that, they should have designed more modular electronics instead of combining too many functions into fewer boards and components

That was my very point of the discussion, where I opposed burqas post. Yes electronic is very unreliable in german cars compare to japanese. I 110% agree with you on this, but remember Japanese have always had the best electronic(s) devices ever made. Be It their performance or/and reliability. Which would again be n surprise to one who knows what Japanese products are best for. But please dont insult german car engines ;-)
^ I know they say that and it may have been so in the oast but I think the current day Audi's drive better (of course there are fanatics on both sides).

Even here I have to disagree. The best engine to be produced by any german comes directly from the workshop of "Bayerische Motor*W*erke" :-). So far, that is.
