Cheap, I am perfectly fine with (and screw the environmentalists too), but what I don't understand is why do they have to design the cars that are so ugly. It doesn't cost more when the car looks a bit happy. This one alternates between an extremely SAD looking vehicular creature and a rabbit crossing the street. Will it kill the designers if the sloping roof line and the front fascia of the car is a bit more graceful?
Interior is perfectly fine for a $2.5k car. Good job!
Well..issue is that they reduced the lenght and wideth of car but hight cannot be reduced for obvius reasons. I bet this car is not taller than regular call but because of smaller base it looks like litt odd. But what can you get for Rs 1 Lakhs.Even decent motorbikes in India sell for 60-70 K. this car is primarily targetted for these huge bike riding group.
I am priud to have worked with Tata Motors. Goos Job Ratan Tata.
I am looking at the shape of the front headlights and the sloping roof line beyond A-pillars. I am sure the design can be a bit more elegant without increasing costs. Its visual, and has nothing to do with parts and material costs.

ok..agree with this part..
from the front it looked like if this car was launched in Saudi , they will issue a Fatwa that this car is haram as its face looks like Pig. :D
So can just anybody in India afford this car now seeing that it's 2500 dollars or would it still be quite expensive for the lower middle class or low income families?
Apparently environment campaigners are appalled at Tata for designing this car - by making cars more affordable, they will put more cars on India's roads and thus drive up pollution levels exponentially.
Environmentalists? Screw them. North Americans can have clunky Camrys and Malibus but Indians cant drive around on a moped with four wheels? Come now. These cars are cleaner than any hybrid.
The real issue is this...does India have the infrastructure for all these cars or is Tata out to create massive traffic jams?
Not too happy with the shape but glad it’s good news (atleast for some) who want to afford car for their families but can’t due to the expensive costs of other cars :k:

I don't think many/most of middle and low income families are going to buy as maintainance costs are still higher and ofcourse, not just about traffic jams, but also about parking space in their own houses. So, they are going to stick with 2 wheelers.
Cheery QQ has air bags as a safety feature and perhaps even power steering(i guess so). It's engine displacement is higher than this cars with 800 cc engine(i think).
whereas this one doesn't have power steering, power windows, or air bags and even side view mirrors i think. But good effort by tata engineers
60 mph is the highest speed. No Radio and AC is optional with deluex addition. Car is really good if you have 2-4 kids, you can take them to school, malls, friends and family within your city and area. I am however not understanding their reason of not including AC in the car. We are talking about car being used mainly in India and with the heat wave, it would have been a wise decision to have the AC in all cars.
