Tasbeeh

Assalaam Aleekum
I got into an argument regarding reciting(tasbeeh) of Names of Allah(SWT).
I was shown a Hadith regarding memorizing names of Allah(SWT).
But nowhere It says recite a particular name 100’s of times.
And I was called a Jahil for saying that only Sunnah should be followed for
Tasbeeh. And that the person I know said that Prophet Muhammad(May Allahs peace and blessing be upon him) used to recite name of Allah(SWT) 100 times.
I mean the above Asme Husna.

And also this sufi-Tableeghi mix plate person also told me about a Hindu guy.
That he Sufi bhi learned a way of Tasbeeh from Hindu guy.
Inke Mufit saheb ne Farmaya ke hindu must be sitting with a Auliyaa Allah.

PLease, post your comments. I am Interested only in Sunni replies.

Re: Tasbeeh

So what is the issue ??

recite if you like, dont if you dont like !

Re: Tasbeeh

Ibadaat Ka tareeqa Is not dependent on my LIKES AND DISLIKES.
Its based on FACTS presented by Muhamad(Peace and Blessing of Allah-SWT be
upon him).

Bus I am trying to discuss those Facts. App ne tu case he close kardiaa.

Re: Tasbeeh

I doubt that the person is sufi tableghi..the comment is not what tableghee / sufi's believe.

Re: Tasbeeh

Rehman1, I know many people recite the names of Allah (SWT) and attach significance to it (not that there’s anything wrong with it, but you need to have some sort of evidence for attributing rewards and benefits to it). Some would say things such as if you recite such and such name so many times at a particular time, such and such should happen. In fact, there’s a whole book on it.

I wonder if that’s what upset your acquaintance.

Anyway, here’s what I could find that I hope could help you, insha’Allah:

So should we pick just any name and start reciting It.
As you said there is no harm in It.
And my question is there is one Hadith regarding reciting and remembering names of Allah(SWT). So can we recite names of Allah or this great name
as many times as WE WANT.
And my sufistic associate said that there is a Hadith which narrates that
Prophet Muhammad(May Allahs Peace and Blessing Be Upon him) use to recite
name Allah(SWT) 100 times.](“http://63.175.194.25/index.php?ln=eng&ds=qa&lv=browse&QR=10117&dgn=4”)

Re: Tasbeeh

I never meant to say pick one name and start reciting it. I'd suggest you speak to someone knowledgeable about it. I will stay quite, as I have no knowledge about it.
