Taro Root

What’s it called in urdu, ~Sehar~ told me but I don’t believe her ( sorry sehar berry) How do y’all cook it, my mom makes it like aloo gosht, or just by itself in a lot of spices like nardana and such.

Here’s a pic since no one ever knows what it is .

Re: Taro Root

Kachaaloo

My momi makes the best kachaaloo gosht. It's also known as 'arbee'aaN'

Re: Taro Root

its arvee and I bloody love it.

Whatever u want to cook it with just make sure u boil it seperately first and discard the water. Boil it till its almost tender. You can cook it with mutton like aloo gosht and I love it in baingun too.

U liar FG, my mummy makes it the best :snooty: (and so do I :p)

Re: Taro Root

From the picture, they look like shakarkandy to me but they could be arvee.

Re: Taro Root

Actually my mom makes em the best. That's what I thought they were called kachaalo. Abrbeeaan sounds wrong.

Re: Taro Root

yeah thats arvee.. n ermm… i dont like em! :snooty:

Re: Taro Root

Well guess what! I went home yesterday and mum had made arvee gosht :yummy: She made em in a different way though. Deep friend the arvees instead of boiling them. That was they don;t break up unless u break them yourself. And they don;t drink up all the masala either. Very yum. So my mum is better than ur mums Belle and FG :snooty:

Re: Taro Root

Fried arvi? yuck. Arvee jiss may lace naa hau, vo arvi hee nahee.

Aajaatay haiN, khanay kay expert. Abay chul.

Re: Taro Root

well if u like arvee halva with ur gosht thats a different thing. By frying it just doesn;t turn in to a halva in the saalan and suck up all the masala. Its still gooey on the inside :yummy:

Re: Taro Root

bells - i told you it was called arvee!! :-P You guys are making up this kachaalo thing.

Re: Taro Root

Sehar - don't be a kachaaloo. It is called Kachaaloo in some parts of Pakistan.

Re: Taro Root

Re: Taro Root
