He’s not given safe haven in America. Tariq Aziz is under arrest and is not being released despite being in ill health and yet charged with no crime. Not only that, his family have been allowed to visit him just once in a year and a half!
How is that a case of Christians looking after each other? Locking someone up in a cell with no hope of release and no way to see their family is hardly a way to look after a person!
By your standards, Promiscuous Paki, America is giving safen haven to the people at Guantanamo bay since just like Tariq Aziz they have been locked up without charge and unable to see their loved ones!

Badey Aref, the lawyer of Tariq Aziz, the deputy of ousted Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein for over a decade, says his client is seriously ill. In an interview with Adnkronos International (AKI), Aref said that “during a visit to Aziz last Friday, which lasted no more than half an hour, the former premier had to write down what he wanted to say,” as he was too weak to talk. A key member of Hussein’s deposed regime, Aziz, 70, has been in US custody since he surrendered days after the US-led invasion in 2003. He has been detained in an undisclosed location but has so far not been charged with any specific crimes.
Aref told AKI that his client “has not been seeing his family for over a year and a half,” something which makes him feel “very depressed” though “US forces have allowed the family to visit Aziz on Wednesday, 27 December.”
Aziz has reportedly suffered a stroke and a heart attack, though Iraqi authorities have claimed he is in good condition.
His attorney told AKI he has sent “dozens of requests” to the authorities asking for the release of Aziz from custody and asked that an independent medical panel visit him “to avoid the worst.”
“Until now, no specific charge has been pressed against Aziz, and the only thing investigators have against him are suspicions,” says Aref. “From time to time, they invent a new charge against him and start to question him,” the lawyer continued, mentioning allegations including that his client stole millions of dollars from the Iraqi central bank.
The attorney also stressed in the interview with AKI that Aziz “turned himself over to the US after negotiations, on condition that he would not remain in prison indefinitely and that specific issues would be discussed.”
Such conditions “were not respected, although three and a half years have passed since his arrest,” adds the attorney, who says he has called on the Vatican, the United Nations, and human rights group to help obtain his release.
Aziz surrendered into US custody on 24 April, 2003, days after the invasion of Iraq.

So why they took him abroad? He should have been left in Iraq whether he is convicted in any crime or innocent.

Who says he’s been taken abroad? It says he’s at a secret location in US custody; and I recall Saddam Hussain too was kept at a secret location in US custody until released for execution.
With Saddam gone, Tariq Aziz is the highest ranking former Baath Party leader is custody and I imagine the secrecy is to avoid any kind of rescue attempt by his compatriots still at large, just as Saddam’s location was secret to avoid any rescue/premature assasination attempts.
