How did parents do tarbiyah of their children when the child was sent to the desert to be raised by someone else? Did the practice continue after Islam or was it a pre-islamic practice?
What is Islam's stance on this matter?
Isn't it similar to kids being raised by nannies or sent to boarding schools?
PS: I haven't done research on the matter. It's just a question that has been on my mind lately
