I am not sure if I spelled it right but my husband and I would like to attend the taravian this year Insallah at the islamic center but I am wondering can one read taravian at home as well.
if so please explain how it is offered?
Sure, it can be read at home as well. You just pray 20 rakat as 10 sets of 2 with the intention of Sunnah and Taraweeh.
The advantages of going to masjid are:
1. You can hear the whole Quran in Taraweeh.
2. Advantage of praying in Jamaat (for men).

That on day of judgement a persons book of deeds will be read as the person having reward of 'x' number of Qura'aans in their name.. and the person will ask O Allah i do not remember this or i have not read this many ..and the reply will be that these are the Qur'aans in your rewards the ones you heard/listened to.
