I agree. Tanveer should have played in England in tests as well as in ODIs. Why has he not been selected before? PCB has a tradition of ignoring performers at the domestic levels.

KARACHI: Pakistan cricket team’s former selectors said that pacer Tanveer Ahmed should have been given a chance in the earlier series against England following his brilliant performance in the second Test against South Africa underway in Abu Dhabi.
Tanveer’s six-wicket haul helped him become the 10th Pakistani to take five wickets in an innings on debut and was the lone bright spot for Pakistan.
“He bowled brilliantly, showing that he deserved a place in the playing eleven in the series against England and not on the bench,” former chief selector Abdul Qadir told PPI.
“The pitch is batting friendly and only top class bowlers could perform at such batsman’s paradise.”
He said that Tanveer would have played havoc on the English pitches had he been given a chance there.
“English pitches favour bowlers like Tanveer Ahmed. However, the Pakistan think-tank clearly discriminated him by giving a chance to bowlers like Mohammad Sami and Irfan,” Qadir said.
Meanwhile, another selector Salahuddin Ahmed Sallu concurred that the Kuwait-born bowler should have been a part of playing eleven in the series against England.
“He has bowled impressively against South Africans, especially taking into account the fact that it is his debut match. The pitch is certainly batting friendly and bowling in such conditions is very difficult,” Sallu said.
^^ Perhaps you forgot that we had Amer & Asif in UK and they did their job well showing some excellent use of English conditions and restricting Both Australia and England to relatively small total...
Tanvir is pretty decent. He needs nice seaming wickets and he will be a good back up bowler in tests but PAK is still searching for the front line attack after the seperation of Asif and Aamer.

He could have been selected as the third seamer. Ahead of Gul and Riaz. Gul has been a disappointment in tests.
For sure ^^ Tanvir supplemented AR well...
and Abdul Rehman has shown grit against a top side such as Saffies...he has always been successful against them since his U-19 days...
who needs losers like Malik and Rana nai when Tanvir and AR can bowl and bat like this..
They shuld feature on PAKISTAN GOT CRICKET TALENT...
some news channel should start this SHOW for sports...
Atleast now we can say good by to SAMI... lets have tanveer in our side...
Dream on! I've come to terms with the fact that Sami is like a really really bad nightmare who will keep haunting us. Whenever we think we have gotten rid of that nightmare, Sami will pop up and say, I AM BACKKKK!!
