Taming the wild West (FATA): in American style

Re: Taming the wild West (FATA): in American style

You are correct, the mirror tradition is still prevalent in many parts of the frontier but similar traditions can be found in many parts of Pakistan. If you want to discuss the womens right to marry, in traditional Pashtun society, if a women does not want to marry her suitor, she is to arrive at the masjid after Isha'a prayers and infront of the elders, she may state her name, her family and clan and declare that she does not wish to marry her suitor, in most cases her request is accepted and the engagement is declared null.

As far as your second statement goes, bacha baazi is something that is heavily prevalent in Punjab and Sindh. Look into the history of South Asia and you will see that many nawabs, princes, and even the Mughals kept boys and eunaches in their harems and as lovers. If you have read the work of Sir Richard Burton, he speaks of brothels in Sindh in which boys were the main item for sale. People all over Pakistan are suffering from the "qaum-e-loot symptoms," you should look into the number of underground gay parties and clubs that are popping up all over Karachi and particularly Lahore. First of all, in all societies, there is a certain percentage of homosexuals. The segregation of males and females and Islamic fundamentalism is pushing males and females all over Pakistan to experiment with the same sex. These people are in addition to the homosexual population in Pakistan.

Your lack of knowledge and stereotypical ideologies make me laugh. Educate yourself first then try and initiate some dialogue.

Re: Taming the wild West (FATA): in American style

When I am speaking about intereference, I am talking about the unlawful interference of the Pakistani government and the ISI which abuse the status of the FATA by using it as a base for their criminal activities. I spoke about the integration of FATA in my original post in this topic, maybe that will clarify some of your misconceptions.

Re: Taming the wild West (FATA): in American style

Mr. Anti-Bhol, if it were not for our barabaric elders like Ghouri, Khiljis, Suris, etc. your status would never have been elevated from untouchability to a position of dignity...i.e. what you are today...Just imagine, if it were not Ahmad Shah Baba who defeated Marhatas in third battle of Panipat, what would have happened to your ilk...I am sure the invading Marhatas would've reduced it to the status of untouchability again...

Anyhow, why has Pakistan named its missiles etc. after my heroes whom you consider barbaric...why don't you name it after Ranjit Singh or Nawaz Sharif your very civilized heroes, leaders, and ancestors?

Anyhow, for the sake of your Indic civility, now stop your Dravidianized views with regard to my nation and learn to take pride in your "Dhoti"---the noblest dress on the face of earth...

Re: Taming the wild West (FATA): in American style

Yar pardon me, my Punjabi and other friends but this gentleman anti-bhol was crossing limits.

Re: Taming the wild West (FATA): in American style

Fine, maybe “crossing your limits” but the reply you gave is a joke itself. It was the “turks” like ghouri, ghaznavi etc. that CIVILIZED you pathans / afghans and then punjabis. Ghilzai is a turk derivation. Now, I am sure in your ethnic chauvinism you will bring out your “puta khazana” and say I’m [you] are right and everyone else is wrong.. :hehe:

I don’t know if you read or not, but ironically this “issue” was discussed and it was pointed out that it was the repeated abdali attacks that weakened the mughals against the rising marhattas. Abdali was just saving his own lieutenant in Punjab when he abdicated in face of marhatta assault early on ..

Re: Taming the wild West (FATA): in American style

Hahaha, why not ask Ghalzai/Khiljis as what do they consider themselves to be...Allaudin Khilji was Ghalzai so were Jalalu-din Khilji, Bakhtyar Khilji, Mir Wais Khilji, Mir Mahmood Khilji, Mir Ashraf Khilji, Noor Mohammad Tarakai Khilji, Hafizullah Amin Khilji, Dr Najibullah Khilji,... even Gul Bu Din Hikmatyar and Mullah Ummar are Khiljis ...that deflates your assertion of Ghilzais being Turks...

As Abdali, Shah Waliullah, the Hindustani Mullah literally begged Abdali to save Hindustani Muslimans from the wrath of Hindu Marhatas...And Mughals had become weak due to logevity and their own depravity...Abdali was generous enough to hand the reign of Hindustan over to Mughals back after defeating Marhatas...

My ethnic chauvnism is no match to the lies being invented in Pakistan in desperation to find that country "some" historical legitimacy and antiquety ...I was reading Defense Journal of Pakistan and they wrote that Pakistani troops participated in Cyrus the Great's campaign in 550 BC...Also read Indus Saga...the attempt to extend the un-extendable...

Now where you and the administrators of this site when such non-sense was being written about Pashtuns "citizens of Pakistan"...

Re: Taming the wild West (FATA): in American style

What people consider themselves to be versus what their ancestry is can be two different things. Islam did not start from Afghanistan. It was also introduced by Arabs and Turks.

Re: Taming the wild West (FATA): in American style

Ive heard the Pakistani military is ethnically Pashtun. If this be true, you have to hand it to these people for protecting a nation thats not totally theirs.

Technically, Pakistan is a Military State and the PMs and Presidents acting as the viziers of the Military Generals. Old habits die hard i guess.

Just imagine, what would happen if the USA left Afghanistan and created a power vacum in Central Asia? Of course the Pushtuns would move into Pakistan in huge numbers, and given the fact that their ethnic brothers control the military, . . . . . you can imagine.

Re: Taming the wild West (FATA): in American style

^Little knowledge is a dangerous thing. The army is pashtun-punjabi at its core.

Re: Taming the wild West (FATA): in American style

It is Punjabi at core...in the officer rank Muhajirs are most dominently represented after Punjabis...then are Pashtuns...However, lately Mushi has elevated many of his ethnic kins to position of influence...and He is resisting the retirement of two Muhajir generals...one core commander of Rawalpindi and the other of another important garrison I don't remember...

Re: Taming the wild West (FATA): in American style

Mr Sign Up where are you from? If you want to learn about Pakistan Army, read Pakistan Army by Stephen P. Cohen(although this Jew is very pro-Pak army)...Another good source is an article by Major Rtd Agha Hamayun Khan...in which he traces how pre-partition British colonial Indian army and its descendent, the Pakistani army came to be Punjabi-heavy.

Re: Taming the wild West (FATA): in American style

What do people consider themselve is important not what their ancestors were...Where do Arabs come from in this equation?

Re: Taming the wild West (FATA): in American style

Needs cleanup.
