I just read in today’s Indian paper (statesman) that Bangladesh will impose taxes on polygamists to deter the ‘outdated’ practice of polygamy. The tax will come into force from 1 July in northern Rajshahi. Their Mayor, Mijanur Rahman Minu commented "Polygamy is a disrespectful and outdated act in this modern age. We have imposed the taxes to prevent such acts’.
I find these comments very strange (in the sense that arent’ these against Islam to comment what is prescribed in Holy Quran)
And is it fair to impose such tax in an Islamic country?
But the question here is that he could marry according to Islam. The question is to impose taxes on this ‘could’ to turn it to should not. Islam had been imposing taxes on other matters, i.e. Jaziya, to discourage people from doing certain thing or to follow something. Had they wanted this could have been done then.
according to quran four marriages are not allowed. Read all lines . Because where there is a line which contradicts men wishes ye LOUG AANKH BACHA KAR GOZAR JATAY HEIN.
"GOD says you can marry upto four provided you can do justice between them. next line it says which you can nott do"
so there are conditions to marry more, not as and when pleases marry more than one.
There is no sawab to marry more than one rather GOD SAID YOU MUST DO JUSTICE BETWEEN THEM< BUT YOU CAN NOT DO JUSTICE BETWEEN THEM>
now do not say creator does not know you. He says you can not do justice , but you men keeep on saying we do justice. SHHSH. what a nonsense.
It is for those who might born ****** children, so in a way it is no sawab at all, rather not doing justice will decrease the numbers. Also if wife is sick or some other reason, you can marry more than one. "exactly like this do a little wrong for a greater good" BACHA ****** NA HOU.

Quit saying Islam allows four. Islam allows four IF you THINK you can be fair to all of them and since you most likely cannot, its BEST for you to stick to one. Please don't leave out all the conditions to your convenience.

There is no possibility of ability of a man that by any chance he can do justice among his more than one wife . Please note CREATOR THE GOD says so not my virdict it is.
So allowing four marriages is not A SOUABIC ACT AT ALL OR FAZELATI ACT AT ALL . IT is allowed for other reasons GOD knows it better. you marry four but your minor sins of not doing justice among wives are gethering, being adding in your amal.
Guys i have to agree with the ladies here.......According to my knowledge zamaroudzenith is right. This is how Quran says it so we cannot take the first part of the aaya and use it to out own good we must take the full verse and see what it really tells us to do. I think and thats my opinion the point here is to be just not to marry more than one women. Also i believe this doesnt mean that we are forbidden from marrying more than once. But to me the circumstances where we are allowed or where we should step forward to marry more than once was a catastrophy like the Tsunami or the October earthquake where thousands and thousands of children were orphened and thats where we should have stepped forward and exercised our right to marry more than once to provide respectfull living and a homely shelter to those who suffered. But thats my own opinion.
