I know this has been discussed in a variety of threads already, especially when talking about getting the H1N1 shot.
Has anyone taken Tamiflu or given it to your children? Especially children younger than 10? Have you seen any side effects of taking Tamiflu?
My son’s been prescribed Tamiflu (the 45mg capsule) because he hasn’t been feeling too well the last couple of days. Stuffy nose, phlegm in his throat, stuff like that.
Now I’m not a big fan of taking medication, if you can get better yourself with a few days of rest, drinking lots of fluid, etc. than that’s the way to go.
Now the doctor that prescribed the medication was a walk-in doctor, and not Musa’s own pediatrician. If it was her, I wouldn’t be so weary about giving it to him.
So I’d like to hear from you guys. Have you given it to your kids? Have they felt better..have they had any sides effects (vomiting, dehydration?) The only thing I’ve heard about Tamiflu is that it makes the person feel better a few days quicker than if they were to get better without any medication.
Dookie started tamiflu yesterday evening, he's had 2 doses so far. He's still spiking fevers even though I'm alternating tylenol and motrin but his chest still sounds clear and when the fever is down a bit, he gets up to play. He's drinking clear fluids but not eating much which is expected. So Inshallah, he's on his way to recovery.
