I think I have mentioned this film ‘Tamanna’ before which stars Salman Shahid and Feryal Gauhar amongst others. Film is to be directed by British director Steven Moore and is about *“a famous film director named Shehreyar (played by Shahid), who is fond of playing games, inviting a man named Riz (Hameed Sheikh) to his house. The plot develops into a feud between these two characters, who fight over a woman in a story which deals with love, adultery, robbery and murder”

Sounds refreshing :k:
Must be something special that made even Feryal Gauhar return to acting.
I am keeping my fingers crossed. This one sounds promising -- let's hope it brings good economic returns for all concerned so more people can be motivated to make similar (and what I hope would be) good quality, path breaking cinema.
Also, Feryal Gohar starred in "Zar Gul" which def deserves to be released in the theatres. She's a fine actress.
As per the grapevine, Salman Peerzada did try to push for a release for "Zar Gul" recently but it's gotten in trouble with the censors for its depiction of corruption in police force and for its honest portrayal of the feudal/political class.
The theme of the film is very subversive, anti-authority, so there's little surprise there. The Pakistani censors have once again proven their effectiveness in curtailing creativity in cinema -- though they have NO issues letting pathetic cinema from Bombay into the theatres. Another reason why local film makers hesitate to make movies -- even if they end up making something worthwhile, they stand to lose their massive investment if the censors aren't happy.

So movies that depict police corruption will be denied by the censor board? I've written a screenplay on police corruption in Pakistan :(
