Nawaz Sharif used to be one the most stylish student of Government College Lahore back in 1960s when his father used to run Pak biggest industrial conglomerate. Unlike Shahbaz Sharif, he is fond of precious clothes, costly watches,perfumes,desi food and lavish lifestyle from his childhood. He is not from some Tut Poonjia family or like some Nau-Daultia who get wealthy by doing Cricket Commentaries !**

@desert bird … and others:
Now a days … Nawaz Shareef and his gang of 40 thieves are singing that Nawaz family was one of the richest family in Pakistan and Bhuto Nationalization made them lose a lot, still they were left with huge assets.
Desert Bird is posting wrong information about Nawaz … even though in one picture one can see Nawaz next to second hand run down banger Morris Minor (that is what I make from the picture, though small Renault of 60s used to look similar) … no big deal, as this car was owned by middle class, not rich of that time, as rich and mega rich of that time in Pakistan used to drive Mercedes, Chevrolet Impala, Ford Thunderbird, Humber, Cadilac, Jaguar land rover, Roll Royce etc,
Anyhow … here are names of Dr mahbub-ul-Haq’s list of 22 rich families of 60s … surprise .. surprise … no Shareef (Itefaq group)? ![]()
Lets go forward:
Industrial Concentration and economic power in Pakistan by L.J. White (1974) … Many big industrial complexes owned by rich Pakistanis were nationalised … Still no Shareefs (Itefaq group)? … How sad … Daddy Zia was still out of power and Bhutto was busy doing his best to destroy Pakistan business communities, mostly from Sindh (Karachi), though some were from Punjab and KPK too.

Actually, Itefaq group had some standing, as were small business family and Bhutto nationalised their small steal industry, along with many large ones. Zia returned Itefaq foundry to Shareef family on pretext that it was too small and many foundry that was similar size to Itefaq was not nationalised.
So … Zia came in 1977 and started bias policy of promoting few businessmen from Punjab. Sindh (Karachi) took back seat and new houses got rich, that includes Shareef (Itefaq group). Hence, by the time Zia period ended (1988) … Itefaq rose leap and bound to become fifth richest business house (courtesy to Zia love of Nawaz Shareef and corruption of Shareef family):

So … please do not try to cover the corruption of Nawaz Thug while in power, by saying that they were rich from early days of Pakistan. No doubt they were better and richer than most Pakistanis, but were not in Mahbubul Haq’s 22 rich families of Pakistan … neither their name was amongst top 44 rich families in 1974. Shareef (Itefaq group) became rich mostly once Zia adopted Nawaz and pulled him into power corridor of politics.
Even though Nishat group (Mansha) was rich during Ayub Khan’s time and was placed 15th in Mahbubul Haqs list of 22 richest Pakistanis, they also prospered during Zia time along with Shareef (Itefaq group).

This is very standard fashion in 60s… Anyone of us can show family pictures… This is not lavish style but last few pictures shows wealthy life and how Nawaz got class when entered in politics and corruption.
