Talking in the bathroom..

Umm, is it okay to talk in the bathroom?
The bathroom is located right across the MSA so alot of girls come in and often run into each other and say Salaam and words like “MashAllah”, “InshAllah” etc. Maybe i’m wrong but it just doenst seem appropriate to me or allowed? I do say wsalam if someone says it first, but since I dont know exactly if it’s ok or not, i feel a little bit bad..Should I tho? :konfused:

Re: Talking in the bathroom..

i'd find it strange to talk in the toilet, and i think its forbidden too, but if its in the bathroom (i.e. area for washing hands) then i dont see much of a problem....

Re: Talking in the bathroom..

yah its alright as long as ur not in one of the stalls.

Re: Talking in the bathroom..

How did this question come to your mind. I am quite intrigued.

Re: Talking in the bathroom..

Oh my god is it wrong to talk when your on the toilet? At work (non muslims) always hold conversations with me...i find it EXTREMELYYYYY STRANGE to talk when your doin #1 or #2. That's just me, I prefer silence, but women hold full conversations in the midst of it....go figure. But I do understand, I think its ok to say salaam and all in the sink area.....
oh those MSA/PSA days, totally miss the drama :)

Re: Talking in the bathroom..

Lahore, its just something i been pondering, since its right by the MSA, theres alot of girls who come in there to do wuzu n stuff n often run into each other etc.

Re: Talking in the bathroom..

it's my understanding that if the toilet is separate from the sink...then u can talk. In a case where the toilet and sink is right next to each other then you should refrain from doing so.

talking while ur on the toilet (most girls do this) is a big no-no....it is not permissible.....someone correct me if im wrong.

Re: Talking in the bathroom..

what is #1 and #2 ?

Re: Talking in the bathroom..

Am I in cafe or religion forum? Do we really expect a religious answer to every silly question in the world? Does God really care about such trivial matters? If someone does claims there are religious answers to these things, aren't they really just someone's interpretation of someone's interpretation?

Re: Talking in the bathroom..

^ Seminole, i know this is not the most pressing issue concerning Muslims, however, there's nothing wrong in knowing the right answer to something.

Re: Talking in the bathroom..

My post was not to say "it's not a pressing issue", it was to say "it isn't a religious issue".

Re: Talking in the bathroom..

^ this is where all religions fail. Islam is a complete way of life.

And no, you cannot talk in baitul khala (bathroom) the most you can do is just make a sound to let someone know if you're in there or not, thats it.

i can get u references, but this is a common fact.

at a sink u can, if its FAR away from the toilet.

Re: Talking in the bathroom..

Mm ok thanks for the answers every1. But still saying some words in the bathroom, whether by the sink or not just makes me feel weird..but hey u cant ignore when someone greets u ritE?

Re: Talking in the bathroom..

Some would say that is where Islam fails. Trying to attach God-sanctioned and spiritual answers to the most mundane and insignificant issues.

Re: Talking in the bathroom..

Can we lock this thread plz? :clown:
