What will be future of withdrawal plan after suspension of these talks?
The Taliban have suspended talks with the US because they were presented with “unacceptable demands”, leaving the west’s political strategy for Afghanistan in tatters days after a US soldier’s massacre of 16 civilians raised huge questions about the future of the military campaign.
Within minutes of the insurgents’ announcement President Hamid Karzaidelivered another blow to western plans by calling for US troops to leave Afghan villages immediately. In a statement following a meeting with US defence secretary Leon Panetta in Kabul, he said he would like to see foreign efforts shift focus to economic assistance and reconstruction instead.
If that demand is met, it could spell the end for the current coalition military strategy focused on pushing out insurgents and winning over the civilian populations village by village.

On top of this karzai has asked the Americans to go away from villages and stay in their bases. With 2014 drawing close the problems for the Americans are increasing.
Future withdrawal plan is hanging in a balance, afghanistan was not Iraq it seems as the Americans miscalculated the situation and now in their arrogance and insensitivity they have destabilized Pakistan as well.

though there is possibility that future dialogue may resume easily...unlike past

This was unsurprising. The Taliban know that they are negotiating from a position of strength.
The irony in all of this is that ISAF is being defeated by the exact same factor that led to the Soviet defeat - domestic war exhaustion. Those who do not study history are doomed to repeat its failures.
The cycle of history will continue. I'm willing to bet that Karzai is going to end up with Najibullah's fate too, all the previous steps are bit-by-bit coming true.

Yep, and another thing, karzai has asked the Americans to hand over the security to the afghans by 2013 instead of 2014. Taleban from now on will just be biding their time they dont even need to talk to the Americans.
