So what.
The Taliban made a hoopla about their actions merely to incite world opinion, and to create public furor…a way to thumb their nose at the world. And so they did, very effectively.
The hindus burnt the Holy Qor’an out of ignorance and idiocity, merely to incite Muslims. And so they did, very effectively.
The problem is, humans around the world are so stuck up on material issues that we dont care about the real ones. A human being is more important than a statue. Ensuring public harmony is more important than merely getting your way. But that concept seems to have been lost on just about everyone in this world these days.
A very famous hadith of Prophet SAW says it all. I dont know the exact book, but the hadith is real.
Prophet SAW said…It wouldnt be as big a deal if someone were to demolish the Holy Ka’aba than it would be to break a human being’s heart.
But contrary to this saying, nowadays material issues seem to matter more to us than ethical ones. The world jumps on the Taliban for statue demolition, yet turns around at the sight of human demolition in Afghanistan, Palestine and Kashmir. Similarly, now Muslims are jumping on the hindus at the sight of the burning of the Qor’an, yet run around killing their fellow muslims in the name of sunnism and shiaism.
