Taliban: New US ally?

First you were bellyaching at top of your lungs that you wanted US out and now you want us to open our homes, hearts and wallets to Afghans. Refugees are not a green light to bypass immigration process, as long as they are taken to where their life is safe is the goal. Europe had seen many terrorist attacks by refugees and no one wants unvetted people jeopardizing our safety.
Sfgjans overwhelmingly supported Talibans, even Afghan security forces joined them.

New policy is non intervention and keeping interior safe by restricting entrance to people from countries fostering extremism.

It will be upto Afghans to change their society, west has packed up and waved goodbye to both Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Their new best friend is India, engaged in naval excercise with western countries

I’ve been seeing this BBC reporter since childhood but never saw her so excited as she is here:

But Russians are officially happier than anyone else and going “sadqay waaray jaaon” for Taliban:

Taliban or Munafiqeen of 80s u know the bandits who fought the soviets] or parchimi or northern alliance all afghans hate people of subcontinent
so lets not worry about their fate , they are best left alone

Some of that hate is perhaps well deserved, especially for the years under Pervez Musharraf.

Few years ago some friends contributed money to buy tickets for an Afghan family to go back to Afghanistan. That family was so frustrated in the US that they felt their life was much better in Afghanistan. I have personally met a similar Iraqi professor as well once. Looks like the extremely lucky few “Afghan allies” who made it to the US out of thousands kept like animals in various processing centers around the world aren’t much better off:

Yet to find a single expat Afghan who has a positive opinion of the Talibans, and have met dozens in the Uk as well the Oz, from all walks of life and education backgrounds. May be they all are traitors!

Seems most of their sympathisers are found in Pakistan, and particularly on these fora! Just saying…..

Afghans hatred for Pakistan is so palpable, just watch what happened in the Pak vs Afg World Cup match in Leeds.

Guess we did them the greatest harm by giving millions of them the shelter, protection and livelihood during the 80s, and in return their gratitude in the form of Kalashinkov culture, opium pandemic and spiralling crimes was an icing on the cake!

And oh yes, I wasn’t even born when the Qasba Aligarh massacre happened in Karachi when these illegal immigrant goons mercilessly butchered hundreds of innocent citizens including women and children. And that single event lead to so much ethnic violence and hatred, it resulted in the rise of a cancer like the MQM.

i know you love Democrats but they do shit for Pakistan, and the republicans despite their flaws have been way less malignant.

i wonder why you never post anything about democrates apathy towards pak compared to the GOP?

they may be pussy-grabbing, misogynist bastards but still they were way better than the clintons, or the obamas!

and yes, imran still waiting for that call from your vegetable in the white house.

I don’t know what Twitter you follow, but I just checked and found that 99% of the people on there are in support of him. You like to make up facts out of thin air, typical Tanzanian bullsh!t. This displacement is the result of an illegal war that the US fought for 2 decades and LOST. More than $2 trillion wasted, and countless lives lost, just to then later discover that OBL was in Pakistan all this time. Do you know how much it easier would it have been to give everyone in the US universal healthcare free of cost instead?

===

Not really smart to praise someone who defeated those around you, so your experience is not surprising in US led NATO and US led Five Eyes countries.

Bruh, they are all the same. They all have what we say in urdu, aankh men … ka baal

Lets revisit.

Its all about timing. Reagan needed Pak due to Afghan war thats why he did the favors. When clinton came war was finished and they neither needed us nor afghanis.

Bush jr. didnt pay any attention to pak till 9/11. And that also started with a big threat of “you are with us or against us”. That was the poked monster waking up from slumber. Musharraf caved. They did whatever they wanted in pak and showered $$.
But by the end of his 2nd term, Americans had realized that Pak is bluffing. They are taking money but not giving the actual culprits. Thats why Obama started drones. Eventually they find OBL in 2011, where? Yup you know the answer.

Now remember that Trump’s first tweet in 2017 as President to be taken oath in 20 days was against Pakistan. He clearly asked why are we giving them $$$ when all Pak does is hiding terrorists. But Pak did good prep work when IK visited. A little flattering and it ended up in a great Trump-IK meeting after which Pakistanese started having the celebration since Trump hinted to mediate Kashmir problem.
But did he do anything? Nah, Indian lobby reminded Trump that he cant do sht about Kashmir.

So now comes Biden. he is sticking to Trump’s promises and has pulled out which is great for America. Btw right now his administration is working very closely with Pakistani authorities to solve this crisis.

As for him calling IK.. lol. Every sane leader knows who in Pakistan they have to get in touch with when it comes to making a strategic decision. And IK is not one of them. Their call goes to GHQ and thats where matters are settled. Fair enough?

over last two weeks, thousands of technocrats, academics, doctors, graduates and other high value personnel have fled the country, given your admiration for the Taliban and their desperation to find replacements, may be you might give them a helping hand by moving there? Surely you have been a useful economic immigrant to Canada, may be its time for you to contribute something to a way of government you actually seem to appreciate, no?

There is no need to give a history lecture, I probably know this stuff better than you.

The bottom line is, in this day and age of show politics, spinning narratives and PR wars, even good optics of a bilateral relationship matters, even if Americans needed Pak, the republicans showed a lot more warmth and appreciation for Pakistan on the World stage than their counterparts. Be it Musharraf walking hands in hands with the Dybuya or Imran sitting side by side with The Donald and Melania, it created some magical moments for Pakistan in the wider geopolitical war with India. Even positive publicity for Pakistan sets Indian asses on fire!

but yeah be happy with obama’s long trips to New Dehli or Clinton doing a 6-hour token visit to Pak just because he had just done a much longer tour of India, all good for you. Atleast he came to Islamabad for few hours, Obama did not even bother giving a thainga to Pakistan.

He’s not speaking for me. He is just trying to teach you a thing or two, so listen up and learn.

How’s your blood pressure? :hehe:

Shame, I was expecting a half decent come back.

Also, khusra is a derogatory term, you should look it up, you woke orangutan.

That is such an unoriginal argument. I’ve been hearing that since nursery whenever the other side ran out of arguments. If that was homework, I would have given you zero for plagiarism.

I don’t want to argue with you since you have thick chamrii, but let me tell you no revolution or movement can survive without local public support. Twitter and social media do not represent masses and you can’t make assumptions about people of a particular area on the opinions of expats

Its ok. You see what you want to see and believe whichever side of argument you want to believe in depending on your own life experiences and observations. Your posts suggest you have not been treated well in the West and you seem to have a lot of resentment for that. I get it, but my experience has been totally different, and I can see the goods and bads of this society from my own frame of reference and develop my own view points.

Hope your stay in the West becomes more tolerant to you and you actually enjoy and hence start appreciating the society that has given you a place and a livelihood. But seriously, if you don’t enjoy it a tad bit and idealise the Taliban style of society, you should seriously consider moving there, seriously! Your mental health will be better.

’Thick chamri’ - wow!

Yes I do not deny Taliban do not have some local support, but you cannot deny a significant proportion of their population are against them fiercely even willing to sacrifice their lives trying to flee the country.

You seem to care about people who support their ideology, but I am more concerned about the wider population. The women, children, the hazara people, azbuks and tajiks. Your hatred for the Americans might be making you blind towards the barbaric side of the Taliban. Its much more than that. China is not supporting them out of their opposition to the US, they have their own interests. Lets see how the various Islamic movements that are propping up in Central Asia and China fare.

Anyways I still consider you a brother despite every thing that has happened over last two years.
