Refusing to recognize does not mean invading a country. Besides, why would they have recognized Taliban govt when America knew already that Taliban were supporting Qaeda, their actual enemies?
America was tolerating Taliban govt’s support to Qaeda but this tolerance turned into real anger after 9/11. Americans asked Taliban to stop supporting Qaeda and hand over Osama. Had Taliban agreed then they would not have invaded them. Invasion happened only when they refused to stop supporting Qaeda.
US was not interested in Taliban at all. There was nothing to be gained by invading a poor country like Afgh. Their agenda was to invade Iraq on Israel’s behest.
