You probably do; many of them are likely Desi; share your stories! :)
Re: Tales of Desi Horror!!!
^^one at a time :hinna:
We were little…and so heart broken :hinna:
I realize I should have clarified a few points in my first post:
A) The mother of the gentleman in question is, for lack of a better term: a b*tch. I've met her personally, and I find her to be one of the least pleasant individuals I have ever met. She once slandered me by claiming that I suffer from a medical condition that I do not even have, and even I have half a mind to take this b*tch to court for slander/defamation. Then again, I'm not her **son. ** B) The woman herself doesn't work but isn't by any means destitute. Her husband had a well-paying job in the Gulf, saved up a tidy (tax-free) sum, and bequeathed the greater portion of it to his wife a children. Had the woman wanted to settle this matter out of court to save face for both herself and her son, she most likely could have. That said: she didn't. Instead, she chose to take her son to court, and play the victim when in public, likely knowing the legal outcome would probably be in her favor anyway.
C) My sympathies do not lie with the mother. Nor, however, do they lie with the son, or his wife. I've met all three, known them for several years, and find all three to be singularly unpleasant. The youngest son, however, is pleasant and personable, and has my sympathy.
D) Both the woman's son and his wife have well-paying jobs, support no dependents, and do NOT lack for money. I don't think this was EVER really about the money.
E) Though the son is blaming his wife for instigating the quarrel, I don't for a MINUTE place the blame on her. Is the wife a manipulative b*tch? Absolutely; no less than the mother, in this respect. But given the choice between taking his/her parents to court for money or divorcing his/her spouse, many a Desi would choose the lesser stigma of divorce over the greater one of filial impiety. The son wouldn't have sued his mother unless HE himself actually wanted to, it's a simple as that.
I thought so.
Nice, normal mothers don't raise sons who take them to court.

title should be tales of a Dysfunctional family.

Re: Tales of Desi Horror!!!
I do not move around or keep company of evil people. ![]()
All my friends and acquaintances are nice , self respecting and honest people. So I do not have any story like this to share.
Is it true that this old day (not desi) sued a microwave company because she put her cat in the microwave to dry it off and the cat died? She sued because the company didn’t warn about not putting cats in the microwave. And she actually won. ???
There’s dysfunctional brains all around, people! ![]()

Its not a problem for women at all.
Most of them have either dysfunctional brain or no brain.
Look around you ![]()
Re: Tales of Desi Horror!!!
The only horror story I know is of this Pakistani lady who was married for 20 years... had 2 kids, she became a realtor when the housing market was booming, got real rich (on her own)... husband was earning okay but nothing like what she was earning ...... she met some rich hindu guy, had an affair with him, took her kids and left her husband, then filed for divorce and married the hindu guy. The kids don't even see their dad anymore (they're teenagers).
u think thats crazy, think again ![]()
Jodee Berry, a Hooter’s waitress in Florida, won the restaurant’s sales contest and thought she’d just won the new Toyota that her bosses said the champion would get. The prize was actually a toy Yoda, not a Toyota, so she left her job and sued the franchisee for breach of contract and fraudulent misrepresentation. The force was with Berry: The out-of-court settlement in May 2002 allowed her to pick out any Toyota car she wanted.
Silly me: broaching Desi matters on a largely Desi forum. If it bothers you, feel free to leave.
Would you like it to be?
Change it to Tales of Horror! What's wrong with you?
People are people and there was no need to put desi in it. It speakes of racism also. This racist attitude should not become a norm in my humble opinion.
By the way these kind of 'story' or events (assuming it is true) are fortunately rare in all communities and unusual and it is not like people do these acts just because they are desi. I sincerely hope you got it.
Hence one should not lump all desi people with using word desi here.
Yep!
hahha PC and Roxx... so true!! hands down...
Back to the topic, seriously??? If the guy and his wife are working I say get over it.
maybe the mom is hoarding everything for the youngest son because she sees how much of a jack @$$ the first one is. Or, maybe because she knows she is going to be getting old and will ultimately need the $ for living expenses and medical expenses. Back to what Roxx says, his mom knows she is witchy and no one will take care of her so she has to make sure she is taken care of.
Going to court, petty petty petty! He just made himself and the rest of the family a laughing stock of the town. He needs to get over it and try to save for his own retirement. Instead of wasting the precious time of our legal system.
I have heard of desi children who are very very well off yet their parents pay for their own food and expenses. Yes, they stay with their kids and some of those parents are truly nice people.
You probably do; many of them are likely Desi; share your stories! :)
