Taleem-e-Balighan

Khawaja moinuddeen’s interview by Aslam Azhar and first few minutes of one of the classiest urdu stage play adopted for TV dramatization

This video could fit in Video Gallery but I have a reason to post it here. This is a spin off the thread by Lilly2k2 ‘Fankaron kee Azadi’. This shows the simplicity, humor, creativity and class that could be put together without the aid of any vulgarity, chichoray/double meaning dialogues or fancy clothes..

In fact the cast does not have a single female character, it does not have any fancy sets, not even any dramatic camera angles, yet its pleasing to watch and laugh at the same time..

amazing writing, amazing acting (love Subhani Ba Younus’s character) and lovely presentation ..

this is just a thread starter video, rest is avaialble on youtube

Re: Taleem-e-Balighan

I have the VCD version of it and watch it from time to time. Azaming wit , super acting.
What a feast for eyes.

Re: Taleem-e-Balighan

what a drama..i have always loved it watching:k:

Re: Taleem-e-Balighan

It's an excellent drama .Every aspect be it acting ,writing, direction , set design is top-notch. But I think the writer's 'niyat' behind writing this play was very pure. He touched on issues like our education system, nepotism, corruption, and unity as a nation('itehad ke humney tukre tukrey kar diye'). Now, how many dramas today address these things? not even one. aaj kal ke writers ki soch bohat mehdood aur niyat ghatya hai.
Ashfaq Ahmed ek philosopher thei unki gehri soch unke dramas mein reftect hoti thi. Same goes for Khawaja moinuddeen. sahi haike* writer tau koi bhi ban sakta hai lekin qabil writer bohat kam log ban paatey hain.*

Re: Taleem-e-Balighan

The thing about people from those days is they were masters of their domains and not jack of all. You look at today singers for instance. The same guy is the singer, poet, music composer, producer of the album, distributor, financier. How good can you become if you are the one man show.

Same with the drama producers .. the same guy is going to write and produce and maybe direct his drama, what kind of class he can maintain ..

other problem is too much of money, every tom dick and harry with money wants to produce a drama. Showbiz is now a biz with just a little bit of show left

Re: Taleem-e-Balighan

its soo old its got bengali titles!

Re: Taleem-e-Balighan

yes, the play was first aired in 1969 or 1970 I guess ..

Re: Taleem-e-Balighan

I loved taleem-e-baligan. It is one of those plays that everyone in my family would love to watch. Dramas these days don't have much substance in them.

yeh to aankhon dekha haal hai ek 'chita unparh' aadmi, with loads of money was saying 'chalo assi wi koi praavite praduction banandey aain'. ('lets make a private production since we have a lot of money')...do tarah ke producers khatarnaak hain ek parhe likhay jaahil doosray unparh jaahil.

:hehe:

then did you accept the female lead part in that production or not … :stuck_out_tongue:

Joke aside, producer (film or drama) need to know that they are just financing the production and should not stop director from being in charge of everything and not taang araa’o in his stuff.

our film industry went down because producers started having the final say in everything, and now drama is suffering from the same disease.

no becaaaz mujhe urdu naahi aata :hehe:

Just to inform you(since you asked me before) I’m not a celebrity and have nothing to do with shokhabiz … ye aankhon dekha haal ek janne waale uncle ka hai jo naye naye ameer huay hain.

Apart form that, producers do have a say in every drama/film as in they sit down with the director and decide what would be the treatment of the film, it’s look and feel but then they should be educated enough to take part in this process.

When I said producer, I meant financier .. are they the same people or different?

I maybe able to finance a movie but can I force my 48 years old “GIRLFRIEND”’ on director to make her the 24 year old college going heroine .:hmmm:

I’m not sure about the role of a financier. but the producer and the director should have the same vision.if the producer says ‘saima kuri da role karegi’ and the director is syed noor then he would definitely cast his 48 year old girlfreind.but if the director is shoaib mansoor, he would show him the door.

Re: Taleem-e-Balighan

true. taleem-e-balghan is witty at some considerable level, indeed.
