tale of two nations - part ii

cheen

has existed as a political entity since around 210 bc when emperor qin unified various tribes of east asia. since then, the number of free elections held in china is a exactly a big fat zero. media in china is completely controlled by government, there is no freedom of speech and even internet access is restricted.

pakistan

has existed as a political entity for 60 years. unlike in cheen, there have been numerous free election in pak and and until yesterday media was was free to spew all the nonsense it wanted 24x7. and despite the fact that pakistanis enjoyed unprecedented freedom compared to people in countries like cheen or even iran or arabistan, all pakistanis do is moan about how pakistan is the worst country that has existed in the history of human race because there is no westminster style democracy in pak.

currently, despite not being a democracy, cheen is well on its way to being a super power. chinese foreign reserves now total $1.5 trillion as a result of which cheenas can influence domestic economic policy of the u.s. in 1988, after tianmen square incidence, goras started lecturing chinese on democracy. cheenas give goras a two fingured salute and continued to work in a system which suited their own particular qaum. once cheenas started supplying $50 dvd players to wallmart, goras stopped all the lectures on democracy.

despite getting screwed by goras multiple times, pakistanis still continue to turn to goras to sort their problems. without a sense of shame, pakistanis love to hear lessons on democracy by goras. cheenas in contrast would would give a big chamaath to any gora who would have the nerve to lecture cheenas on how to run cheenastan.

bottomline until pakistanis start respecting themselves they should prepare to act chuprasees of chenaas in a few years from now.

Re: tale of two nations - part ii

Although I don't like the harsh tone used for Pakistanis, the message is clear: Until we start respecting ourselves as a nation, we will not be taken seriously in the international arena.

Pakistan is running away from the main economic problems. The Chinese government has worked very hard to ensure employment and economic openness despite its autocratic nature.

I don't believe that we should be following any particular country in terms of development. We have to create policies in OUR national interest rather than the US, EU, Arabs etc.

Re: tale of two nations - part ii

i agree that we should follow our model and not copy either cheen or the u.k. what bothers me is that we swallow gora criticism when western governments dont say anything against saudi arabia, egypt or china. why is that pakistan is such a punching bag? waisay few years back, british govt said something unfavourable about malaysian government. next day malaysian govt cancceled the contract of british firm responsible for building k.l. airport. ultimately british govt had to get down on its keens and apologise. pakistanis otoh get down on their knees whenever they feel they have done something to displease goras.

Re: tale of two nations - part ii

A strong post, but quite true in many area’s. By declaring Emergency Rule and stating that Pakistan now comes first, Musharraf has finally shown the two finger salute to outsiders as well. :k:

Re: tale of two nations - part ii

Brother you are on target! The Malaysia example is a good one or look at Turkey with the whole Armenian Genocide bill in the US. Turkey was ready to yank the US bases and support on the Iraq war. Both are Muslim majority countries.

We are a punching bag because our leaders both military and political look at the US as some type of saviour. This funding is like crack, destroying our country and enslaving our people. What we need is American, Cheeni, Arabs and others spending money on the services to of our talented and educated people. Lets find our oil reserves, give incentives for NRPs to come back, and develop based on OUR time lines. I don't care who does it as long as it is done.

Lets get back to the basics and retake our national self respect!

Re: tale of two nations - part ii

As long as you have military puppets, your country will be VERY easy to pressurize, the only way to win global respect and get somewhere in the next 50 years is to have rge rule of people, however flawed it may be....democracy is the only way forward in the longterm.

Re: tale of two nations - part ii

I am 100% confident Pakistan will make 10% growth Year-over-year under Musharraf as "King", so lets all organize a grandeur rally, prepare a "taaj" for king Musharraf and then put it on his head.

oh wait, the King Musharraf will be waiting for someone's call whether to accept the 'taaj' or not.
