I have some Talapia fish in the freezer that I plan to make for a dinner this weekened. Can someone please give me a good recipe that they’ve had success with?
Here is what I think I’ll be doing.
Thaw over night, marinate for a few hours and bake. Any special masalas should be used other than the normal packet fish masala?
Another question is when I made it using the same recipe in the past, fish kinda turned out pheeki regardless of being marinated for a while. What did I do wrong?
Sajal, shallow fry the tilapia fillets instead. They taste much better.
I usually marinate in Shan fish masala (the lahori one or even the other one) but i take the masala, some oil and garlic ginger paste and lemon juice. Mix it all up and marinate the fish in it for 1 hour. The shallow fry. You don't next to add extra oil as there already some in the marinate. Just make sure you flip gently.
SAJAL…I think tilapia tastes better when fried…shallow fried…
but u can bake it too…
I made some a few weeks ago…since i wanted to have sth like the one they have back home,I added shan masala, garlic paste, lemon juice, some red chillies and ajwain and let it marinate…then coated it in dry besan and shallow fried it in a few tablespoons of oil…
It tasted a bit bland to me so I sprinkled some chaat maslaa on it..but then I loooove chaat masala so I put it on everything…
Is it pheeka as in not salty enough or not spicy enough. You can always add more pepper/masala to your liking in addition to the shan masala. Does tilapia hold up easy for frying without breaking like other white fish?
hey guys i ve made talapia 3-4 times b4 sometimes just with lemon salt and pepper shallow fried with a side dish of potato and one time with shaan masala as well but today i was thinking of making it breaded but i just found out that i have no bread crumbs in the pantry, i do have whole wheat bread though, can u guys tell me how to turn it into bread crumbs? or can i use corn meal instead??
