A few months ago Pakistan’s interior minister took oath. DIK Jail was broken a few days back, with the result hundreds of dangerous prisoners are on the loose. Interpol has issued a global red alertdue to jail breaks in Pakistan, Iraq, Libya and other countries. Islamabad is on red alert since yesterday as there are intelligence reports of a high profile attack on the capital. Where is the interior minister in all of this?

I didn’t check news about jailbreaks in other countries, is it true? There was a US consulate/embassy shut-down in “Muslim world” for “credible threat” of attacks. Coincidence?

Margalla Hills are being combed by the army personnel. Parliament/PM House./ISI headquarters and ofcourse the all important US Embassy and diplomatic enclave are house closed to the hills. Besides, there is heavy security in and out of isb airport. Not sure how this is all related to US embassy shutdown in the muslim world or the escape of homeboys from those jails.

In fairness, Ch Nisar has taken some pleasant steps since taking up this portfolio. Keep in mind that the bar was set a bit low due to great Rehman Malik so any good step gives Ch Nisar something to highlight. However, so far his activities and initiatives have been limited to Federal Capital. Which I don't agree with at all. Why not own up to karachi kpk, balochistan as well?

He has taken a lot of initiatives in isb (reducing check posts, starting of an employee database etc). It may be because of two things a) they want federal capital back NA 48 and b) he does think of himself as federal capital interior minister. Because if peace is a provincial topic now, what justification is there for a federal interior minister other than isb?

If that's the case what's the need of an interior minister? Even if the provincial governments have more responsibility now, still interior minister needs to coordinate intelligence between federal and provincial departments. In the previous government (with all his flaws) we'd find Rahman malik travelling through out the country (especially in the wake of terror attacks). At the moment it seems as if there's complete disarray (and confusion) between federal and provincial governments.
