It seems to be a universal guy thing to do. We have a guy staying with us these days who is kinda well gay. One we are not certain but I swear everybody has the same damn reaction when we saw him.
Sooo…
He got the room outside the house. It was for our security after all. And security is paramount.
Now a few other guys who came over lunch said the same and the jokes started.
The question is - is this a typically male trait. Or do women also make fun of lesbos?

i think its a male trait....but women also take the piss out of 'gayness' too, i know with my male friends if anyone is slightly girly both the boys and girls take the piss a little

ummm I have seen girls make fun of women if they see a lesbian couple… esp if the couple is older or seems more “butch”
this reminds me of a story: my friend ran away when one of them asked her for a dance…nothing major… not dirty dancing but just dance with everyone on the floor. I stayed and made small talk with her b/c didn’t want to be rude. She was nice and I left after without making her feel bad. no harm in being nice. can’t think that everyone is hitting on you!
so you guys really need to stop worrying about gay men… they won’t hit on you…if girls aren’t even doing that to you…

I haven't really met any lesbos in real life here in Ireland (I probably did, who knows : p ) but I do remember reading Elizabeth Bishop's poetry in the english class in secondary school and the whole class (all girls) did make fun of the fact that she was a lesbian..... I can't remember any poets we studied in school apart from Elizabeth Bishop only because of this certain detail of hers.... : D
