taking the emergency pill/morning after pill, once a month…is there a bad effect of it.. i know its not recommended, but i cant get my head round taking the regular pills, too many side effects, dont want the coil, and erm just ddont trust the condom enough and im always paranoid it may have split etc.
so without realising ive taken the ecp once a month roughly since july…is that ok? or harmful.
^ you do know Ecp has the same hormones as the regular birth control pills, probably just a bit more! So if you are one of those ppl who gain weight on birth control pills, you could have the same with the Ecp... But I guess medical experts will know more!
Honestly ecp should only be used what it's for..emergency!
What's wrong with getting the coil if you don't want to be pregnant?
Nadz.. I gave a feeling that soon everyone will stop giving you advice because you never listen to anyone and keep asking for same thing over and over again!
abstinence is the best thing for you... and waise bhi.. u hate your man... he is troublesome in every way (from all the posts gathered)... i think that should be enough to keep you off of him for a pretty long time...
The emergency pill is usually double or triple the active component. So if you're not having any other side effects other than nausea, I think you should give the pills a try. It really isnt as bad as you think. There are so many brands you can try for that as well. Emergency pill will not keep you protected from pregnancy, and honestly, they're worse than any other contraception imo. I dont understand why you're taking it so lightly.
ECP is a much higher disage of hormones than regular birth control. It's only meant to be used in emergency situations - hence the name. You're doing way more damage to your body than would be with regular birth control. Get an IUD or stop having sex altogether. Sheesh.
To put it into perspective, think of the emergency pill as normal birth control pills .....on steroids.
Same hormones but a much higher dosage, some are 10X the amount present in normal birth control pills.
Listen to the advice everyone is giving Nadz, please.

The weight gain with birth control is not that much, especially with modern pills. Some studies have shown that it's very insignificant. It's mostly fluid retention and is a POSSIBLE side effect - you might not even get it. If you're exercising a lot and eating properly, it won't bother your weight loss goals. The last 2 kg's might be hard to take off, but I'm assuming you want to lose loads of weight...so it won't matter in the end anyways.

It is not physically possible for you to gain weight by taking the pill. Yes you MAY feel more hungry but you need ignore that hunger. You are gaining weight because you have upped your calories and you are eating more - don't blame the pill.
