I though DWI and involuntary manslaughter were related to driniking? Yeah right, drinking causes no harm to any one else. This is one should be put up there as a reminder that drinking not only impairs your judgement, it oftens take away some of the gray matter as well.

You know what is worse than people who drink..people who read scripture..that leads to suicide bomb belts and killing of kids in pizza parlors. As long as we are generalizing, eh Kaleem. :k:

I am sure you dont want me to talk about invading other countries without just cause, razing people's houses and grabing land, supporting the terrorists(mujaheedens) and than calling them evil (Talibans), doctoring satellite pictures, standing in front of the world and telling bald face lies (see Powell making the speech at UN regarding those mobile factories of WMD)...Do you want me to carry on? You want me to chalk up all these instances to drunk behavior? How them apples for generlaization..eh, my brown friend:)

kaleem .. no not really. i was serious. think about it.. what would you do? you cant let a person drown if hes calling for your help but have you ever looked into the distant sea at dusk? it is quite intimidating.
i once had a friend who tried to rescue his kid cousin from drowning, and died (he didnt know how to swim well). i guess that lends some context.

Drinking responsibly and moderately is not bad. I am moderately responsible when it comes to going out with Matsui and Verizon.

Madhanee its not about whether the drinking is reckless or responsibly/moderately.
The issue is...when one goes out every saturday night or friday night and the same plan week after week is drinking. I question why these people don't find something else to do?

PCG, you are being judgemental. People should go out every night and not just on Saturday night. I don’t think you will pass a similar judgement to those who go for ballroom dancing every saturday night. There are benefits associated with moderate drinking. Don’t get me wrong, being tipsy is kinda nice, but being totally drunk is not nice.

I can never understand why people who have no money will always go down the pub for a few pints to drown their sorrows. They do that in every single Eastenders episode! cry abt the fact they they have no money, yet head out to the Queen Vic to spend money they DONT have on alcohol...

Hehehe… Yeah they they blow a major portion of their wage on booze, go to the local have some pints, puke it up, next morning wake up on a gutter in the street, go to work/school with an hangover… Same old routine day in day out.
My friends are young and only have to fend for themselves or they’re still relying on their parents yet they’re always complaining about being skinned and crap.
It’s ridiculous, there’s definitely a problem somewhere but they’re in denial, unn ki anaa ka masla hai they can’t accept that the Pakis are actually chatting some sense.

I never understood what the fascination with drinking is about. Westerners are really fukked up when it comes to alcohol. I mean why the hell would you get drunk. It's like their hobby or something.
