Taking pictures in Sudan

A colleague is in Sudan on some voluntary work, he wrote back a couple of days ago and mentioned restrictions on taking pictures. I haven’t heard anything like that before, he was wondering what’d happen if he did take pictures in public places etc.

I know some ppl believe that taking pictures is haram but never knew that some governments have made it illegal according to shaira. Has he been misinformed? Is it pictures or even carrying a camera in general or just pictures of human beings that is not allowed?

Re: Taking pictures in Sudan

if that is so then how come the coverage is shown on tv?

Re: Taking pictures in Sudan

I know personally how frustrating it is if u don't know whether you're violating any law when you take out your camera.. Mullah Ashcroft did it to us too.. so Sudan ain't all that bad.. :)
