I am at the last stage of a long and hectic project of “Importing pakistani Mangoes” in USA for the very first time. If everything on both ends of the world goes accordingly than I should get my first shipment within next two to three weeks or earlier.
What I am trying from this forum is to get “Firm Commitment” from USA Mango Lovers who are willing to buy Pakistani Mangoes…I dont want your “Credit Card numbers or payments” yet but I do need honest firm commitments for quantity of boxes you will be buying as these mangoes will be “High in Price”…
Why high price??? because Pakistani mangoes are allowed in USA for the very first time under strict conditions and meeting all those conditions is increasing importers cost…What kind of cost???..Well there are quite a few including mangoes cost, treatment cost (required in Pakistan and again in USA), Air cargo cost, refregirated trucking cost (required in Pakistan and again in USA), Special materail boxes cost, perishable item’s insurance premium cost, custom duties plus licensing, permits and certifications cost etc. All these costs adds up and that is why before I take this “High Risk Investment” I am trying to see the “Market” for these mangoes so please send me your firm commitments and feedbacks here or through private messages…Here what you will be commiting …
You should expect to pay atleast $30 for 10*12 inch box containing atleast 6 (or more depeding on size, weight and variety) of Pakistani Mangoes weighing around 2-3kg.

Will these mangoes have guthli(seed) made of gold ? Woha. 5 dollar for one mango , good luck with that.
I tried Haitian mangoes the other day. 12 mangoes per box and the whole box for 7 dollars. They are so aromatic, juicy , sweet and flavorful and can compete with any desi mango.
In Chicago I have seen desi stores selling mangoes by tons. A box of 10 to 12 nice quality mangoes never costs more than 8 dollars.
You will those mangoes can not compare to chosa , dasahri , langra, tota pari , sindhri aam of Pakistan and I will agree to that. But there is always a threshold of price for anything and for me the price threshold of one mango can be maximum 1 dollar per mango for desi folks living in USA.
I am sure Haitian mangoes would have to go through same processes your mangoes would have to.

No Mirch they will not have gold seed but the customers will be allowed to takeout bad ones out of the box and replace with good ones...Please read my following post in regards to your other comments (I posted this to another thread)
Thanks everyone for your feedback and comments and let me try to give some more info. why the Pakistani Mangoes prices will be high...
First of all I am an importer, not retailer so I dont really want these mangoes to be high priced as I want this business to be a success not only this year but going forward too but unfortunatly my cost is addingup "High".
Secondly (in reality) this year 2011 will be the first year allowed by USA for Pakistani mangoes which means Distributors and ultimately Retailers will like to make some "good money" on this "Unique" product.
Third, pakistani mangoes are ONLY ALLOWED COMMERCIALLY... means not allowed in personal baggages.
Fourth only Eight Orchards are approved by USDA in Pakistan so I am hoping high quality too.
Fifth, although I agree that Mexican, Haitian and Brazillian mangoes go through most of the same certifications conditions but they are not subject to "Air cargo" ...they are usually come through trucking and sea cargo...Pakistani mangoes are allowed ONLY AIR CARGO.
Sixth, like other countries, Pakistani mangoes are also subject to "Hot Water" and "Irradiation Treatment" but all other countries get this treatment done (cheaper) in there respective countires but Pakistani mangoes are ONLY ALLOWED TO GET TREATMENT DONE IN USA IN ONLY ONE SPECIFIC COMPANY and subject to that company's insurance rules and treatment fee structure.
Seventh, Pakistani mangoes are ONLY ALLOWED TO LAND IN CHICAGO and not any other airport in USA atleast for this year.
Eight, Pakistani mangoes will than be traveled from Chicago to Iowa (500 miles) to the specific company for irradiation treatment...ONLY ALLOWED TO TRAVEL IN REFREGIRATED BONDED TRUCKS ONLY.
Ninth, I mentioned in my last post a price of $30...This is an estimate...First of all I meantioned MINIMUM 6 mangoes (they could be more depeding on size, weight and variety). Also remmember these mangoes will move from Importer's hand to Distributors hand and than Retailers so I am predicting that high price at RETAIL level (it could be low).
Tenth reason I am predicting Pakistani mangoes will be high price because we have to compare apple to apple means if dessi people are paying $37 for Indian Alfanso mangoes (although Indian mangoes are treated in India and allowed to land any airport and small in size 10 in a box of 2.5kg) at local indian stores in LA and Chicago than how come Pakistan native generious people will not pay a decent price to support something sweet that they should feel proud.
In the end I am not trying to justify hight price but I just spelledout honest and real scenario. Again if you dont want to pay high price at Retail store, you can contact me direct for a decent order and you will get a better deal...I am really interested in distibutors and retailers who are willing to commit there orders...Thanks

After reading your post. All I can say is good luck I do not buy Indian Alfredo for 37 dollars a box and never will , also I will not buy Pakistani mangoes for 30 dollar a box , I have lived without them for two decades , I can die happy if I can save my money for some other good cause then waste on satisfying my craving for good Pakistani mangoes.

we get pakistani mangos for 7-8 Euros (box) here in europe. I would not pay more than 10.

Heard on Dawn news yesterday that the first shipment of 1000kg mangoes has arrived in Chicago.
That there was intense opposition from Indian and South American mango lobbies.
That Hillary Clinton and late Richard Holbrooke played a role in getting mango import going from Pakistan.
And that today there is some function or mango festival in Chicago today to introduce these and then they will be available in regular grocery stores.
When are they coming to my nearest Stop and Shop in the NorthEast ?

How about if someone updates me here , if i wish to export Mangoes or Rice from where can i find buyers of these things in UK, USA, Canada, Germany or other countries. I seem to have no idea at which price these are normally sold and in which quantity these are sold.
