I’m curious as to how this even came up. Did you just randomly mention that she wants you to buy a laptop? OR did you by chance ask her what she wanted?
Whenever I go back home…“gifts” never even come up beforehand. I don’t ask anyone what they want and at least in my family, no one has ever “volunteered” their wants to me.
