tajdeed-e-iman opportunity for Torontonians

Dears brothers and their sisters,

it is with great pleasure that I announce the beginning of the North American leg of the Tajdeed-e-Iman tour. The mainstay of this blessed and spiritual event will be Hazrat Abrar-ul-Haq of Narowal Shareef. This modern day sufi poet needs no introduction but here goes something..

Abrar is not a man - he is an institution. His message of peace, spirituality and of course love is universal. He shot to nation-wide (and eventually international) fame with his sufi hit “Billo Day Ghar” in 97-98. In this beautiful ghazal, he exhorted his listener to find their inner Billo and to be at one with her. Over the next couple of years, Abrar continued preaching with many spiritual numbers such as “Majajani”, “Billo On GT Road”, “Aaja Bayja Cycle Tay”, “Mall-o-Mall”, “Nach Punjaban”. One ghazal from his latest dewaan, “Nachan Main Oday Nal” that I find particularly compelling is “Shareekan No Agg Lagdee”. In it, he urges people who’ve been victimized by fate to have faith and that surely good things will happen to them such as a hot girl possibly falling for them.

Some testimonials from last year’s concert.. err sorry I mean Halaqa follow:

  • “Three hours ago i.e. before this concert. I was lost. I knew not the purpose of my life. But now I understand why I was placed on this Earth courtesy of this one man (Abrar).”
  • “Whoever deliberately skips this blessed event despite having full knowledge of it is surely damned.”

Such is the simplicity and beauty of this man’s message that I was personally moved to tears multiple times when I attended this event last year. This year the Toronto Halaqa will take place in the Brampton Sports Centre on August 1st, 2004. Be there for what I assure you will be a life-changing experience.

signed, Alhaaj sambrialian of Gerard Shareef.

probably 6 or 7 pm and will go till 11-12ish.

the second question is completely irrelevant here. you have the opportunity to make a difference here and you can't simply quantify the cost of doing so. if I wasn't going, I'd still buy tickets just to tell the man how much of a difference he has made to my life. you should, too. :)
