No Jiziya was even prevalent in Akbar's time, he abolished it. Then came Aurangzeb who revived it. While Jizya got its justifications, there are no justifications for bulldozing someones worship places.

But Aurangzeb did built some beautiful mosques including Badshahi mosque in Lahore. He is also said to built a huge temple in Chitrakut (Uttar Pradesh) and made arrangement for the ‘bhog’ at this temple for generations.

Why he abolished hindu worship places its mystery to me...but i think if he was so much anti-hindu then he would have never gained support from hindu rajputs...

Because he was the fundamentalist and could not see people worshiping freely. For Rajput support, I don't think they supported the invaders considering their religious ideologies. Besides all this, Aurangzeb had Rajput Ranis in her palace married to his sons.

Shajahan commissioned TajMahal and it gave city of Sikander Lodi, a reason to survive till this day:), they make huge money out of it:D, During 65 and 71 war India used to hide its moonlit shine as it can give location of Agra:D
Whatever Aurangzeb was his effect is far short lived when compared to ShahJehan's Tajmahal:)
The other marvellous thing that city has allegedly produced is MQM leader Altaf Hussain since then:D

I read that Shahjahan is now considered as a Wali and every year on 26-28 Rajab (7th month of Hijri Calendar) Urs is celebrated on his mazar. Considering people active participation in ChaRawa, etc, the archeological department has installed a board saying ' ChaRahwa is not allowed' :D
