but i have also heard tht Aurangzeb and his brother Dara Shikoh were kept as hostages under Nur Jahan at there grandfather Jahangirr’s Lahore court.
what was the reason?

It might happened because of Shahjahan’s rebel against Jehangir. In Jehangir’s time defacto ruler was NurJehan. She didn’t want Shahjahan to be the ruler. She was interested in making Jehangir’s other son Prince Shehryar king of Hindustan and therefore married her daughter Ladli Begum from her first marriage to Shehryar.
