Taj Dupatta setting

Re: Taj Dupatta setting

The pix that were posted here....are those girls wearing a fake bun or something? Cuz their hair looks so big in the back and the taj dupatta's are so heavy, doesn't it wear down the hair?

I have a taj dupatta too and its SOO heavy! How is my hair supposed to keep it up?

Re: Taj Dupatta setting

they stuff your hair with something to keep the shape. my MUA used a wad of what looked like crepe paper.
ive heard gross stories about MUA's using hair to stuff the bun, as well as things like tissues, cardboard, cotton and even tampons.

Re: Taj Dupatta setting

Do you think this would be just as good? I don’t want a lot of backcombing or weird things stuffed in my hair. Has anyone used this? Would it be good for the dupatta setting?

Re: Taj Dupatta setting

So i told my maekup/hair lady that I have one of these dupattas and she said she'sd make a high bun and would prob put in a hair piece to make sure the bun comes out large enought to support the dupatta. Mind you I already have pretty long hair, so if the bump-it doesn't do it, a hairpiece will I guess!

Re: Taj Dupatta setting

this new style looks really gorgeous.....but I have to disagree that a small teeka with no jhoomar....

I would think that a huge teeka and heavy jhoomar would definitely compliment the heavy embroidery on the dupatta.

Does anyone have any pics with all heavy accessories and taj dupatta? Would love to see it.

Re: Taj Dupatta setting

I wore a big teeka and jhoomar with my dupatta (taj one). It looked good to me.

Do you have any more pics of the second lengha?

Me too!!!! But it was a normal teeka not a big one!!

Re: Taj Dupatta setting

I think a bride is complete with the Dhupata & that also with the lovely one

Re: Taj Dupatta setting

taj duppata's look really nice the one i'm having has a 'chita' of stones and sequins all over and more concentrated for the part to go on the head, it looks nice i think for the barat day

Re: Taj Dupatta setting

thats my cousin in the very first pic of this post. Her wedding was in 2008..so not sure if its still in fashion...

When I got my nikah hair done, I had asked my makeup artist about these but she told me that shes tried them herself and after a while the bumppits start poking into your and give you a massive headache. Especially with a heavy dupatta on top of them, she didn’t me to use them. To create a bump look, there are other ways of doing it. Apparently these hurt…

Re: Taj Dupatta setting

you would need lots and lots backcombing and heavy amount of hairspray and a nice high-set bun :D and dher sari pins to keep it in its place :)

it looks very pretty ! congrats hun :D

Re: Taj Dupatta setting

It looks lovely on a bride, I agree but how can one pin a Taj dupatta when one is going to re-wear it at another shaadi?

Re: Taj Dupatta setting

it looks very pretty! but don’t make your hair so high that it looks like a camel’s back! it just looks weird and unnatural that way, imho. the idea is so that you have something framing your face from all angles- its not required that your updo be so high that everyone looking at you head-on can see the kaam on your crown. its so people standing behind you and to the side of you can see the extra embellishment. it just completes the look, i’d say, but its not and shouldn’t be the main focus of your face and if you lift your hair up so high so as to show it, it will become that and it will look weird. your face should be the focal point, not the hump rising from your head!
