Tair-e-Lahoti

Re: Tair-e-Lahoti

I don't like this side of Pasha. He seems to be pleading with Mahnoor to love him..it is weak..so un-Pasha like.

Re: Tair-e-Lahoti

^lets see what happens in next epi..

Re: Tair-e-Lahoti

love makes every one to plead....

Re: Tair-e-Lahoti

^thats the point....he got her in her house, is married to her, but doesn't have a soft spot in her heart. He hates him, and he has no control over that. He can't win her heart, and therefore, he pleads for her love..

lol,yes..i think pasha ne sahi kia.mahnoor us ki mankooha hai koi khilona nahi hai...and mahnoor should now compromise cuz she has no any other option..

btw, itni tension main b mahnoor nail polish lagana nahi bhooli lol

Re: Tair-e-Lahoti

No but isn't that because pasha told her to dress up for him..

I haven't read the novel and am taking the drama on its own merit. Here's my take on the action so far.

Pasha: excellent acting. He is not your typical 'gaun ka ghunda' but a 'trust fund brat' and he plays the role very well.

Mahnoor: excellent acting. Some people say she is not pretty enough, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and she is certainly pretty enough to catch Pasha's fancy and play the role convincingly. Also, after her kidnapping, she has been abandoned by her family and the betrayal has left her numb. She is beyond feeling anything at this point. Her emotions alternate between desolation and defiance. I like her understated style of acting much better than the overly melodramatic acting of 'Bari Amma' or 'Ustani Ayesha'.

Riba: good acting. She is not a tomboy as some have suggested but a pampered kid sister. Her 'shaukh' bubbly personality is portrayed very well. However, I found it hard to believe that her family would marry her to Moon. This may happen in poor villages but I can't imagine that a well-to-do upper middle class family would marry off their only 'ladli' daughter to a man twice her age whom she has met exactly twice, and before she can complete her studies.

Marvi: good acting. Leaving aside the mystery of the missing nine month pregnancy, her character is a bit confusing. I understand she does not want to name Moon as her attacker because she actually has feelings for him (even before the rape) and also that she framed Sunny as a way to get back at the begum, but what exactly does she want (besides the baby)? Clearly she doesn't want justice because she is letting Moon get away with rape.

Moon: horrible acting. The man has no expressions. Even Keanu Reeves can act better than that. His character is so lifeless. He doesn't do anything except get up, go to work and sleep. (and occasionally rape.)

Mazahir: mediocre acting. It seems the director is trying to portray him as a villain and we can certainly see and understand Manhoor's feelings towards him go from infatuation to disappointment and finally to anger. But I think it is mostly because of the story line, not because of his acting.

Sunny: decent acting. I actually found him believable as a bored, spoilt rich kid who turns to drugs.

Bari Amma, Ustani Ayesha, Manhoor's Mom, Pasha's Mom: overly melodramatic acting. I feel like I am watching some bad Indian movie.

By the way, am I the only one who wants to whack this idiot 'Bari Amma' character on the side of the head and put her out of commission? The way she showed a double standard towards Manhoor's v/s Moon's kidnapping was terrible.

Finally, I find it interesting that so many of the women posters here want Manhoor to be with Pasha. She was forced to marry him against her will. Pasha kidnapped her and blackmailed her by threatening to kill her relatives if she committed suicide. She was also desperate and desolate after her family abandoned her. I hardly think such a marriage can be viewed as legitimate.

However, as I mentioned above, the story line is building Mazahir up as a villain, or at least a wimpy loser, and we can see Manhoor's developing anger towards him. I can see the ending where Mazahir finally gets off his fat ass to confront Pasha and to kill him. But by that time it is too late and Manhoor actually weeps for Pasha. Tum ne mera shohar mar dala...

True that but the girls here want them to be together because they find him hot and it would be a waste of time to watch him die, or get left by her in the end, and from what i understood people have taken it more romantically then it wrong ethically, if you see above...its more like he loves her so much that he had to do what he did feeling going on rather then oh my he should be punished for what he did to her..either way its fine...

i loved pakistani99's post! great analysis - i completely agree with wanting to smack bari amma over the head. the double standard is disgusting

In principle, I completely agree with of both you. I think that it speaks more to the undeniable attractiveness of Fahad Mustafa and his ability to create a sympathetic character. I am sure that if he was terribly unattractive, none of the women would have that opinion. I am sure that they would feel so much more sympathy for Mahnoor and be less likely to feel that she should make the best of her situation. It is sad but true.

Re: Tair-e-Lahoti

I loved reading all of your analysis', guys. I agree with all of it except that ustani ayesha did a good job according to me and suneeta marshal in some scenes falls flat but she is not horrible ...overall she's doing a good job.
i agree that the attractiveness of fahad mustafa makes the girls want mahnoor to be with pasha and all that teelo said but it's a drama. Were this for real life and if I was analyzing the situation based on someone's real life happening currently, then mahnoor has every right for justice and to seek her identity and pasha should not end up with her as he really doesn't deserve her NO matter HOW HOT he is! lol, but in the drama we want it because pasha is good looking. Sad, I Know, like the above poster said.

i dont think its bcoz of the attractiveness of Fahad Mustafa..its bcoz the director has turned muzahir character into negative one..while pasha who’s a gangster in the novel is shown as a hero in the serial thts why everyone feels sympathy for him…also his acting is awesome..otherwise i dont care how hot or good looking he is..
and hir187 i agree with u tht its just a drama thts why everybody wants mahnoor to be with pasha..real life main kon aisa chahe ga..
anyways good conversation guys  :k:

I don't know if Muzahir is a villain. I think that he is mainly shown as weak and indecisive. Pasha is incredibly decisive, too much so perhaps. In society, we tend to value men who are strong and decisive. Weak, indecisive, fearful men are seen as cowards. That is how I think Muzahir is - a coward. But I still think that if the character of Pasha was played by someone who was not handsome, not "hot", and perhaps the character of Mahnoor was played by someone a bit more innocent and sweet looking, we would have all felt the great injustice.

I understand the appeal of Pasha's bad boy image, but this is not a grand romance. It is a petty tantrum on his part. He is used to getting what he wants and Mahnoor's defiance presents a challenge to him. Pasha is fascinated by Mahnoor because she resists him. Once he wins her heart, he will lose interest.

I don't want Mahnoor's character to be innocent. She has to be, and is, strong enough to resist Pasha all by herself even though the whole world has abandoned her. However, Mazahir's betrayal might be the final straw that breaks her will and makes her capitulate to Pasha. Also if she becomes pregnant then everything changes.

I am waiting for the Riba/Marvi story to move faster too.

Anyway, it's all good entertainment...

Re: Tair-e-Lahoti

ya.... parts of this post suggests that if ur kidnapper is hot .... its ok to be kidnapped. dont make a deal out of it!!! lolzzz

Re: Tair-e-Lahoti

Ok, I don’t care what anyone says, but I LOVE pasha…

I think that most of the females on this post would agree that Fahad Mustafa can kidnap us anytime! LOL!

Re: Tair-e-Lahoti

lol well thats fahad mustafa...but in reality i wouldn't want to wish that upon anyone of you even if it was fahad hot....

Its not ok to justify the kidnapping just b/c h's hot but I know what we say is in joke sooo..lol

I agree with pakistani999's last post. Mahnoor's resistance and strength as for now, is what I really like about her. If she was shown to give in easily b/c her family abandoned her and her "reputation was tarnished in society" then I would have thought she was a weak woman.
Cheers!

Re: Tair-e-Lahoti

Today's episode was strange. Mahnoor seemed ready to reconcile with Pasha then when he brought up the idea of children, she hung up.

Nah, he is ok-ish in real life...its only this character which i guess has made everyone gaga over him..plus obviously there aren't any good looking guys in this drama anyways.
