People from the whole continent go to chicago to get Tahoora’s mithai. Also their chai is amazing. And the highlight of my last visit there was watching their orange juice machine press freshly squeezed orange juice.
its a good place, just goes to show that simple things like a clean facility, consistency of product quality and good customer service can make you very successful.
I have never been disappointed there which is not what I can say about most othyer joints on devon or elsewhere, desi or non desi.
abay next block? ambala was clear on the other side of devon. it has closed down i believe.
I loved ambala in UK, but the mgmt at this ambala were just idiots, the service too slow. I went there a couple of times. plus the geniuses really had hit a homerun with their choice of location..
you may be thinking of king sweets which is a good place although i have not checked it out for 2 years or so
We went there when they had recently re-modelled the place… it definitely stands out from the rest of the chaotic avenue…
Liked their tea, even though i’m not a fan of the desi style chai… i was told that people queue just for the tea, but it wasn’t that busy when we went…and their mithaii was nice, especially the carrot halwa, rasmalai, and this mango thingy they had… and their samosa were divine, albeit a little greasy…
…but nothing beats ambala sweet centre in the UK …they do a chocolate barfi
Last time I went, line was too long, I walked down to the next block and bought my mithaai from Ambala Sweets .. that was my experience.
Exactly my experience last week. I went to grab a quick snack of their kabab roll but the line was too long and too slow so I walked out and went in to Spinzzer which is around the corner and enjoyed bihari kabab roll there. It was amazingly good.
I love their kulfi and halwa puri. And for our nikah, hubs ordered laddos from there and they were divine. We ordered from their again for our daughter's aqeeqa and everyone in our small Iowa town loved us for getting Tahoora mithai :D They also have great keema samosas. BUT i think King sweets make better aloo samosas and some mithai such as rasgullas and gulab jamun etc. It tastes more pakistani style than Tahoora's.
Great place. Taste of mitahi and other products just excellent. Always bought lots of mithai to take home and ate for weeks when visited Chicago. Their Gulab Jamun needs some improvement. Best Qalaqund ever.
One thing you might have noticed: The taste of their mithai is not like Pakistani or Bengali sweet places in Karachi. Especially the Gulab Jamun and Chum Chum.
Ordering is very easy and they have prompt service for that.

Actually, Tahoora is Indian if I am not mistaken. Their sweets are actually closer (in taste) to the ones in Karachi, because the sweet shops in Lahore, Pindi, Gujranwala etc have a totally different taste.

are you serious!? that is unheard of, esp with desi restaurants. do they ship to canada?
Not sure about Canada, because sending food over the border is always a hassle, but try emailing them, they are very responsive.
