I am just posting it for balance, if somebody can explain the reply in easy word that will be much helpful as its difficult for me to understand the true meaning of reply.
He is essentially saying that the Urdu version is correct. He never opposed the death penalty for blasphemers. He supports the punishment in the blasphemy law. He only opposes the way it is being applied which is open to abuse.

Let’s not single him out. All our esteemed ulema have a similar attitude. Even our firebrand brothers on here and elsewhere have a different attitude when among muslims than when they are talking to non-muslims in real life.
