Re: tahini sauce
Make Hommous.
You take tahini, chick peas, garlic, a lot of lemon juice and salt and blend it in a blender.
Re: tahini sauce
anyone?
**Use it instead of peanut butter with jelly on toast...yummy..:) **
Re: tahini sauce
Hummus:
1 can of chickpeas, drained, but reserve the liquid
3 tbsp tahini
1 tsp chopped garlic
1 lemon, juiced
Salt to taste
Process or blend all the ingredients and add some of the reserved liquid to reach desired consistency. (I personally like using all the liquid--it'll be a little runny at first, but hummus dries up fairly quickly). I also like to add a 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper and a 1/4 tsp ground zeera. Garnish the hummus with paprika, chopped parsley, and olive oil.
One time, I saw a recipe for chicken with tahini sauce. Basically, they baked the chicken and brushed it with tahini. They then used the chicken to make a wrap with a tortilla, tomatoes, lettuce, a little salad dressing.
Re: tahini sauce
i think its great to have tahini in your spice cabinet! i wish i had it right about now. make some pad thai. check out some recipies online.
or do what i do. make noodles. beat some eggs and fry them (scrambled).
lightly fry some broccolli, carrots, bean sprouts together. throw in some tahini sauce in there, with some peppers and garlic, if you want some tofu and some peanut butter, throw in the noodles too, and then throw in eggs, squeeze some lemon juice! voila! minutes and yummmy pad thai!!! yummmy!!!!!!!
u can add peppers ( i usually put in crushed red peppers) to taste! just add whatever amount u are feeling! it works!!! its really hard to screw up!
Re: tahini sauce
Will try pad thai. i mean stuff other than dips. wit hjelly on toast, hmmm. Thanks all of you and keep them coming please.
Farwah the rest i can use an estimate but approximately how much tahini?

Found this online. will try it.
Tahini Sauce:
1/3 cup tahini paste (sesame seed paste)
1/2 cup water, or more as needed
1 to 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
Pinch cayenne
In a blender, combine all the ingredients. Process on high speed to make a creamy sauce. Adjust seasoning, to taste, and serve with the falafel, as a dip or sauce for the sandwiches.
Yield: about 3/4 cup
This is the recipe I followed for Baba ganjoush redroses. I also added 2 tablespoons of yoghurt.
1 eggplant
2 cloves garlic
2 ounces fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons tahini
1/2 bunch parsley, leaves only
Salt and pepper
Pierce some holes in the skin of the eggplant (to avoid explosion) and grill over medium-high heat turning every 7 minutes, until the skin is blackened and the body is nice and soft. Total time for grilling is about 30 minutes. If you do not have a grill you can roast your eggplant in a 375 degree F oven for about 30 minutes.
Remove eggplant from the grill and let cool.
Once the eggplant is cool enough to handle, peel away the skin and discard. Place the eggplant flesh in a colander and drain for 10 minutes. In a food processor, combine garlic, lemon juice, tahini and parsley and pulse to combine. Add the eggplant flesh. Season with salt and pepper and pulse to combine. Adjust the flavor with more Tahini or lemon juice if you prefer.
Re: tahini sauce
baked fish with tahini sauce is delicious. We mostly eat tahini sauce as a side dish to grilled meats. Sometimes I use it in place of peanut butter. And of course the obvious hummus and baba ghanoush. Tahini sauce is a must in a good shawarma roll.
Re: tahini sauce
just noted a recipe for salmon cooked with some tahini kinda sauce in a pan and shawarma sauce too. ur comments encourage me to try out both :)
Re: tahini sauce
