can u pray tahajud without sleeping after isha? ...... is sleeping compulsory? ....
[QUOTE]
Both forms of Tahajjud are correct - before sleep and after sleep.
It was the noble habit of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) to sleep and then wake up for Tahajjud. If one is unable to wake up for Tahajjud, then one may perform Tahajjud before going to sleep.

If you find it easier to pray before sleeping then start with that and once you're regular in it, try it after sleeping.
Another easy way is to wake up 15-20 minutes before fajr and pray tahajjud. By the time you finish making dua it'll be Fajr. Pray fajr and go back to sleep.
Don't forget to make dua for us too.
i have heard tahajud was farz on Hazrat Muhammad SAW …is that true? … correct me someone if i am wrong …
Simple answer . Yes!
You can pray tahajud without sleeping.
Long anser is
"Tahajud, vitar and travih are different names for the same prayer (نماز.صلاة)" This may require some research on your own for better understanding.
To my knowledge yes
Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne sonay se pehlay bhi tahajud paRhi or Sonay ke baad uth kar bhi tahajud paRhein, Isha ki nimaz ke foraN baad 2 raa’kat Nafal kar ke bhi paRhein. All forms are valid. the only key word is “Afzal”. aghar raat ke akhiri hissay mein paRhi jay… that’s about it.
Guys, Allah Mian doesnt wear a rolex...he is already losing customers due to advances in science.....so please whether you pray all night or take a break ....it is all good.....just keeps us non-muslim---muslims in your prayers as well.
Please dont come here in religion forum to mock the religion of the majority here. I can see why you were sent on a sabbatical by ehsan uncle or whoever the director was at the time ![]()

It is not mocking it is stating a fact…God/Allah the creator of the universes…“I (Allah) say(s) be and it is”…is a powerful verse in Quran-ul-Majid…given that a being/a deity that can create by mere utterance would not cannot and should not be bound to any time context…Hence the reference to Rolex…
**Jabir reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
If anyone is afraid that he may not get up in the latter part of the night, he should observe Witr in the first part of it; and if anyone is eager to get up in the last part of it, he should observe Witr at the end of the night, for prayer at the end of the night is witnessed (by the angels) and that is preferable.
Sahih Muslim, Hadeeth No. 755a
Another Hadeeth....
Jabir reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
He who amongst you is afraid that he may not be able to get up at the end of the night should observe Witr (in the first part) and then sleep, and he who is confident of getting up and praying at night (i. e. Tahajjud prayer) should observe it at the end of it, for the recitation at the end of the night is witnessed, and that is better.
Sahih Muslim, Hadeeth No. 755b
So its preferable to pray Tahajjud after waking up from sleep....
Lets look at another Hadeeth to understand why is it preferable...
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Our Lord, the Blessed, the Superior, comes every night down on the nearest Heaven to us when the last third of the night remains, saying: "Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?"
Sahih Bukhari, Hadeeth No.1145
Hope this answers your question.**
Peace @bourjois
Yes, you may pray tahajud without sleeping after isha, that is in case if you’re sure that you won’t be able to get up after sleeping. Otherwise is it better to offer it at the end of night because it witnessed by the angels.
Yes. sleeping is compulsory.
Furthermore, if a person intend to offer it at the end of night but didn’t wake up after sleep, then he/she may offer it before Fajr or after sun-rise.
