Tahajjud namaz, jisay Qiyamul Lail bhi kehte hen. How much rakah in that?
I always thought its only 2 rakah.
Somewhere I was reading that a Pakistani aalim said its 12 rakah. Anyone knows?
Seriously? Koi response nai? Or no one wants to help?
I see 2 rakah and maximum of 8 rakah being mentioned, don't know where the 12 came from. I hope someone else knows more about tahajjud.

Agree with M!..goes from 2 rakah's to 8 rakah. That is the opinion i follow. Although i don't think there is nothing wrong if you want to pray more..

Asalaamu Alaikum, The minimum is 2 and you can pray however many you want but the optimal amount is 8 as that is what the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) used to pray.
And Allah knows best in all matters

What I Know of is what all the 3 posters mentioned above. Minimum is 2 and optimal is 8. You can read how much ever you want though.

Yes you can absolutely and during these blessed nights of Ramadan each and every Raka’a is rewarded far more than outside of Ramadan so it is an amazing opportunity to stock up on a lot of good deeds in our Good deed bank accounts. Surely we need as many as we can get inshaAllah.
