Then it’s Qayyam Al Layl; which is also very rewarding. The reason Tahajjud is given emphasis is because of the effort required to get up from the depth of sleep. Allah knows best.

There’s a hadith the reference for which I can’t recall right now. It’s reported to be in Sahih Bukhari. I was able to find the following by searching some words of it as I remembered them:

The Holy Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam said that Allah Taala says,"My servant comes nearer to me by nafl worships upto this that I begin to love him and when I love him I become his ear by which he listens and I become his eyes by which he sees. (Bukhari)
