Don’t you change the extension and that is that? It really doesn’t matter with the on the go videos on demand.

flvs are avi files i think and maybe apple ios does not like avi files too.

nahin mere veer .swf to avi and then avi to mp4 …okay so its not a one step process and you need additional software and then it plays as a movie instead of a flash file but meh! at least i can run it on my ipad

Most of the flash videos are H.264 videos anyway. Its such a waste to run it thru so many engines to get to where it should’ve been in the first place.
I’m so looking forward to HTML5 taking over the flashness of the web. I wish people would get on the (Google’s) bandwagon to start on a free standard which is WebM Project.

Everything is well and good on the ipad but every few minutes I feel like i’m in prison. I was able to upload a PDF in one application and there’s no way to use it anywhere else. I recorded a small audio which can’t be used by any other application.
Just to get my videos on there I have to jump through hoops. In a way sandboxing has its desires in securing the dang thing, but it leaves a lot to be desired.
So, no, not the end!

^ see that’s my gripe too… what if I don’t agree with the various closed “standards”… in Apple’s world, it’s Steve’s way or the highway, and it gives the more technically inclined people lesser flexibility to play with and figure out how they want to use the device and apps.

I never used any other tablet than Ipad so I can say much, though I could compare my wife’s previous phone G1 with her latest phone Iphone. I agree that you dont have flexibilty, but the processor and touch screen seems to perform better in Iphone than G1

We have an iPad, we LOVE it. It is so intuitive and really really usable. I’ve also checked out the Xoom, it’s very nice, but not as intuitive as the iPad. Finally, I checked out the Blackberry Playbook recently, it’s complete rubbish as far as I’m concerned.

Xoom was definitely a premature release. There is the new Samsung tablet that was distributed this week at the Google IO that people are raving about. Then there’s the Asus Transformer that should be hitting the shelves anyday. That’s the one with the keyboard dock with additional battery charge.

I have changed the extension to mp4 and the files worked fine on my ipod. I don’t think Ipad is all that different as far as iOS is concerned.
