I cannot tell you the type of chairs I’ve sat in at any wedding I’ve attended. I don’t think your family and friends would care about the chairs. It is only the brides that do. If you WANT black chivaris then I guess you would not want chair covers and sashes. The chairs would look good by themselves or with minimal tiebacks in another colour with flowers. Personally I think the look is too glamorous/formal for a desi wedding. But it is your wedding and if you like dramatic touches, by all means go for it! 
As everyone said, do add another colour to break the monotony and bring out your lehnga colours.
