silver spoon is OK..not that great...i only go there for their tasty bihaari kebabs ! they truely are da best kebabs i tried anywhere in toronto.

maj: i think my family is the only one who can eat arab food, i know arab cakes are really really good. especially the one which is made by dipping it in sugar syrup. the rest of the friends and family are into chaatpata mircho wala spicy food, ( the kind that gives u heart burn n ur ear itches after taking just one bite). i’ll stick to something i know everyone can eat.

man I dont like arab deserts! yuck. When I say bakery its not a desert bakery its a bakery where you buy roti, all sorts of breads, meat pies, cheese pies and things like that.

Chuhaan (thats the spelling I guess)
On Denison & Woodbine south-east corner 2nd plaza,, Markham
Awesome food and tastful decore,,also has a banquet hall,,,, also great for business meetings and luncheons.

Simply the best I tried so far,,,

Then there are other run down places on hwy-7 like Shahi Zaika but the food is great - Good for easy n carefree eating,,, :D

well they have two locations in scarborough. One is near Islamic Foundation and the other I believe is near Pharmacy and Ellesmere. My mom and I went to their main location (the sit down area). We went to check out their basement party hall for my mehndi. It was disgusting. They had a party the night before, and when we went there, they still had not cleaned up. The place was a mess with dirty dishes, food, and roaches. shudder

If you're looking for pvt halls, there is one in Scarborough called Bobbi's or Bobby's Party Hall. It's at the intersection of Finch and Middlefield, just north of Markham road. I had my mehndi there. The place is really clean and the food was good. I believe they were reasonable price wise.

Mughal is also another restaurant. Apparently it's been renovated... It's at Denison and something in Markham.

Mughal’s quite reasonable in terms of its appearance and food.

SilverSpoon’s biryani rocks, but the place itself is nasty.

haha I’m tempted to post the following reviews from Zabihah:

Do not eat here. I was shocked when I once ordered Nihari. I was able to get a glimpse of teh kitchen through an open window as they prepared my ‘meal’. They pulled out this dirty huge plastic container from the freezer. Scooped out a few scoops of ‘nihari’ as if it were ice cream. Placed it in a frying pan and proceeded to ‘cook’ (melt) it. I was tempted to leave the restaurant right there and then. I believe it was left over nihari from last “Baq’r Eid”. I hope they clean up their act soon. I wish there was an option less than “very poor”. Perhaps health inspectors should pay them a visit.

Place was like a zoo, I almost stepped on a child, the tables were filthy and everything was clustered. Service was horrible and food was just ok. I would never go back even if it were the last restarurant in the world. Please dont take your wife there, they stare at women. As always my reviews are 100% honest like me.

Two week back, i went to this resturant after heard about them. they are over prized, low quality food, and oh god their refrigrator make hell of noice. and dont do anthing anout it

you can also try "Iqbal restaurant" ... i don't know the intersection.. but it's in Thorncliff... just Next to "Iqbal Foods".... food ain't bad there either...............

I would definately recommend Shahi Nan Kabab...the reason for the name is because it has 19 branches throughout the U.K. with the same name...this is the only North American branch.
But anyways the food is great...we once booked it for a family party of about 70 people and it was GREAT...the place had really nice decor and the price is pretty reasonable considering they have kababs and so many meat dishes in the buffet!
(the quality is really good)

Haveli is also pretty good ...and I would stay away from Shahnawaz if i were you...i got really sick the last time i ate there.
