Yes, they’re ugly and lesbians. But they have a great voice!
I happened to listen T.a.t.u's debut album '200 km/h In The Wrong Lane' this past weekend. As a whole, I think the album is good.
The opening tune "Not Gonna Get Us" is a great way to start the album, with it's funky dance beat and screaming vocals. This song has been on in the Clubs I've been to. "All The Things She Said" is pure genius, with an emotional, euro-rock tune and pensive lyrics. "Show Me Love" follows up, and it is a heavy rock/pop tune with a hard beat, while the next tune, "30 Minutes" is a soulful, slow and beautiful tune, which Lena sings with a lot of emotion.
The next song is a cover of The Smiths "How Soon Is Now?" and is a good cover, although it took a very long time to grow on me. "Clowns" isn't my favourite either, a very strange, twisted tune with a spooky edge. "Malchik Gay (Gay Boy)" is rather bland, but very catchy.
"Stars" is up next, a slushy, gorgeous, tear-jerking ballad which proves that Lena can sing, with it's saxophone tunes and it's high, soulful notes. "Ya Shosla S Uma" is the Russian of "All The Things She Said", and "Nas Ne Degonat" is the Russian of "Not Gonna Get Us". They're both good tunes, but shows that the girls need pointless songs to fill up the album. Oh, and there are also pointless remixes of "Show Me Love", "30 Minutes" and "Malchik Gay". Most remixes are bad, but t.A.T.u's are just scary!
All in all, apart from the remixes, a very good album. It takes a while to get into, but it's got some wicked tunes on. I don't mind at all Julia and Lena being "lesbians". As long as good music and lyrics is there, it's all good baby but I wonder will T.a.t.u be able to keep up the good work with the going on controversy?
I'd rate the album 6.5 out of 10.
amazingly enough many russians dont like T.A.TU that much as they say they are a mid class band in Russia but came on top with their "all the things she said" as I personally have read the lyrics and watched the video and the song and the video are amazing very well made on the same topic

They are two regular girls whose songs sound all the same.... like "ace of base" not so long ago... and the lyrics are just crrrrap.... and i don't like a fig of a thing about them......!!
