Iraq was destroyed on the assumption of having WMDs, no WMDs was ever found in Iraq. Syria on the other hand is well known in using chemical weapons against the syrian people. The great defender of freedom and democracy is now in denial.

I do not wish for United States to invade or interfere in Syria it is anticipated the muslims will gain the upper hand in Syria very soon inshallah. However it is point to note the hypocrisy of the colonial powers when they use excuses like WMDs to invade muslim nations when they have run out of other excuses.

Why should the US get involved? So you can blame them for killing Muslims? Why aren't Arab states getting involved. Isn't this their problem more than the US?

Problem is that Iraq was supplied with chemical weapons (tech), Iraq used them US looked other way, later Iraq was attacked for WMDs... so there is game US played there hence the complaint. Rest of the world looks up to US to bring justice without being excessive or biased one way or the other (which is probably impossible).

The US obviously only invades to serve their own purposes but I think after Iraq, they're going to be hesitant about entering another war. The public support is no longer there and I hope some people have learned a lesson from Bush's warmongering. Netanyahu has been ranting against Iran since 2007 and we have yet to see an attack. Hopefully common sense prevails.

Syrian regime is Americas child Assad has protected israel for decades Obamas regime has given assad the green light to do what he wishes for more than 2 years. Nobody in syria wants American intervention the muslims cannot wait for Americans puppet to be destroyed!

Arab states are getting involved. They are supplying the Free Syrian Army, as much as they can. As is Turkey.

But I agree, entirely. Why should the US get involved? We complain every time they do...and rightly so. They're not getting involved is good for everyone. So long as they are not supporting Assad, all is good.

The Axis is between Syria, Iran, and Russia.

The west has had a bizarre relationship with middle eastern dictators. Consider Gaddafi, before they helped to assassinate him...we was becoming a poster boy of reform in the region, then poof...

Assad was always mistrusted, but it's also true that the US and Canada were exporting suspected terrorists to Syria for "enhanced" questioning (of Syrian nationals).

But by far and wide, the relationship was cold.

For those claiming US has no working relationship or control over syrian regime a few examples that contradict that view.

saddam hussein! yes that guy who United States supported to rule IRaq with iron fist for decades untill USA inc wanted the oil for themselves and then initiated gulf war I & II, ring any bells?

At same time hussein took iraq, hefez assad took power in syria same ideology as Saddam hussein US agents did not have problem with assad and was a man they could do business with.

Golan heights was given to Israel for free, to this day the Syrian regime has not even bothered to claim it back.

When Iraq took kuwait US made excuse as reason to invade.

When Syria took control of Lebanon no reason for invasion, US Was happy for Syria to control and influence the Lebanon. The US even signed the Tai’f Agreement allowing Syria to control lebanon.
