well thats how u frame a country. after labelling it as one of the axis of evil, it wasn't a surprise that USA got a major break-through by killing hariri. UN has no credibility left the way it acted on iraq issue. so this report won't help anyone except USA which is iching to attack syria as just recently rice said military options were still on table against syria. so no surprise there.

This is so funny the Amerikans are now listening to the UN all of a sudden when it suits them, when UN says they cannot illegally occupy iraq were they listening then ummm how about NO!

I don’t like the baathist regime but US intentions aren’t pure as well (remember, this is the country that installed Shah over a democrat Mossadeq in Iran when it suited them).
To me, baathists can go to hell (heck even israelis joke that we didn’t kill that many people as hafez assad, the dad that died of current president, that killed 20,000 syrians in damascus in one night).
The country is sunni but it is being ruled by some weirdo christian-pagan cult called alawis though they say they are muslims..
