UNITED NATIONS: Apr 17 (PNS) - Syria has introduced a resolution in the U.N. Security Council to declare the Middle East a region free of weapons of mass destruction.

does anyone here have an opinion? :mudhosh:

it sounds like a great idea up front but in the future would it be an excuse to bring sanctions against someone else?? Pakistan, India?

JB, this just in Pakistan and India are not in middle east.
On a serious note, maybe they want Israel to disarm as well.

Guess who's gonna veto that little chestnut...and it ain't France.

so do you think it will have any affect? you know Israel won't abide by any such resolution. Do you suppose that is the 1 target in mind? to flush out Israel so to speak.

if abiding by resolutions is considered flush out attempts at yourself, maybe Iraq was justified in not obeying them.

Pakistan has advocated everything from Nuclear free zones to No war pacts with India at various times. Anyway UN resolutions are only valid against countries the US see's as threats.

UN... hahahahahahahahahaha what a f..... joke hahahahahahahahaah... I am going to introduce a resolution that laughter is not allowed at GS... hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.....

^ use my veto

maybe that's because the only resolutions that are upheld are the ones backed back force if necessary. a resolution without consequence is just an idea.

i heard Syria is next on US list. how true is that?
