It was 2011 Arab Spring can be felt every where, Tunis the birth place of Arab Spring got regime changed, Egypt is the country where this So-called spring got world recogination…
Prior to this Arab Spring Saga, Gaza, world largest prison was the focal point, France, Turkey, UK and US were bound to take sides, Like Kashmir issue today, Gaza Issue was on the brink of solution and out of No Where, Arab Spring showered its “greatness” in Libya, and the oil rich country is under constant control of ISIS supporters and have been totally neglected…not to mention, it was Western Forces and Airforce who defeated Qadafi and made ISIS head of Libya…who controls oil-fields of Libya is anybody’s guess…
Soon after Libya, other OIL-RICH States of Arabia were targetted, rallies and strikes…till these States reached to an agreement with West…and then as we all know, Saudi, UAE and Qatar invaded Syria!!! The unfortunate land, the favorite battle ground for some 3000 years…
Whats going on in Syria? US fighting who? Russians fighting who? Turk fighting who? ISIS fighting who? Other Rebel groups once ally of ISIS fighting who??
Its simple. US and suadi want change of regime. Russia and Iran want bashar ul butcher in power. Syrians and ISIS both fighting against bashar, getting US support. Supporting or letting ISIS thrive is in interest of US as local fighters are less experienced and are not that fearless fighters as ISIS or Taliban are. that is the limitation US dont want to target ISIS as suppressing locals will be a piece of cake for Russian alliance once ISIS is out of equation in Syria. If anything US would target where there is conflict between locals and ISIS. Some local factions also belongs to ISIS.
For Saudia and Iran, its a political and “religious” matter. For US and Russia, its matter of greed of resources and material.
Obama’s last advice to Trump is regarding stopping Russia suggesting he hardly cares what ISIS doing there.
So let us not totally ignore the Shia/Alawi Minority ruling the Sunni Majority, and ever since 911 the Western countries have found it convenient to support Minorities in the Muslim World, you will see a distinct pattern through out the Arab / Persian World!
I guess you are giving way to more credit to Saudies then they deserve… the best they can do is to fund a movement and that is if there are instructions… .
I understand ISIS on US instructions fighting Syria and Iraq… I get that Saudi are funding them… but why would Syrians be fighting Bashar? Syria was no different from rest of the Levant countries, it was peaceful..despite in continuous rift with Israel… Me, Being in Syria several times, having close connection to the people who only Allah knows if have survived this bloodshed..
Yes i was in Syria when the first demonstration against Bashar was staged, and i was there when the supporters of Bashar responded in kind… but that was all more civil than what Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif does to each other.. how come violence came in, ISIS was not even into being when the civil war started???

Syria, there was no visible to rift between the Sunnies and Shias or Alwies or Christians… somehow, the society was more integrated then we see in Pakistan..
I believe Syria is the land who have been the battle ground for last 3000 years, every power that evolves, somehow consider it important to conquer Damascus… and slaughter the Syrians..
